SpaceX launch at around 5:30 PM CT 6th March

I'm hoping this thing explodes on the pad, that would be a nice end to my day.

So you are such a TDS moron that you want the development something that can lead to one of the biggest chances for us to become interplanetary to fail?

I'm a trained engineer and grew up watching the Mercury and Apollo program, there's nothing going on that has anything to do with "interplanetary travel". Spending public money on that foolish goal is absurd.

But Apollo going to the moon wasn't wasteful?

Wasteful is NASA's program that can't even get its own passengers back home.

You going to pray for that one to fail too?

Yes I suppose it was wasteful, it cost a huge amount and that was a frequent complaint back then.

The Boeing vehicle actually returned from the ISS flawlessly, I have no idea what led NASA to abort that, I wasn't involved. I wouldn't be surprised if Musk was pulling strings behind the scenes, I wouldn't be even a little surprised if that was the case.

No, I don't hope the astronauts fail to return, but I'm sick of the unwarranted hero worship that the uneducated naive masses lavish on Musk all the time, he's not even an engineer, real engineering types don't find Musk impressive, only non-engineers who need a hero.

He doesn't even make the list of the best 10,000 engineers and scientists through history.

Because it had a leak they couldn't fix.

The only reason you hate Musk is because you hate he got red pilled by you lefty idiots.

Suddenly you Republicans are into space travel. What changed? All it took was for Trump to sell you on the idea?

According to current estimates, a human mission to Mars would likely cost between $100 billion and $500 billion per mission, with some experts suggesting a figure closer to "half a trillion dollars" for the first manned mission.

All that DOGE savings, is going to go right into Elon and Trump's pockets

I told you already, I have no admiration for him because he's not an engineer, designer or inventor, he's just a venture capitalist, nothing special at all, I have no idea why you admire him, but he's a nothing from a technology standpoint.

I know and all to plant a fucking flag.

Looks like the lander the landed today on the moon had a glitch. The Firefly, made by a company just down the road from my house landed last week and sent this pictu

I've always been into space travel.

I was against retiring the shuttle before a replacement was ready.

Right now Musk is at the forefront of America's space race with the rest of the world.

Well, NS Sherlock is a commie, so yeah, he would like it to fail. :smoke:
All he's done is launch rockets, never been to the moon, never returned from the moon and certainly has no chance of taking a human to mars, it's old hat. The Apollo moon shot was a real achievement but Musk? he's just commercialized satellite launches and relies on that for getting his starlink satellites up that are slowly polluting the night sky for astronomers.

Really, from a space perspective he's done very little that's new.

It's just a machine for God's sake and who are "you people"?
It's not "just" a machine. It represents a whole lot more than a lawn mower or a weedwacker.

You people are the ones so filled with hate, anger and resentment that you wish massive destruction on those who are of a different political opinion.

You're all sick, really really sick with something awful. It's gross to watch.

He is an innovator, and he allows engineers and scientists to produce the things they do.

You are butthurt he decided the left is fucking crazy, nothing more or less.

His company has lowered the cost of delivering payloads to orbit astronomically as well as improved reliability.

30 years to late space is going from the realm of governments only to truly being open to the private sector and private individuals.
