You know what is interesting is that I actually saw an older, bigger drone fly over my head about 4 years ago out at the farm. It was 200 feet off the ground traveling at about 130 knots. Viewers, beware: while you’re watching TV, your TV might be watching you back. A security firm discovered that Samsung’s Smart TV can give hackers access to the device’s built-in camera and microphones, allowing them to watch everything you do.

The Malta-based firm ReVuln posted a video showing its team of researchers hacking into one of the Samsung TVs and accessing its settings, channel lists, widgets, USB drives, and remote control configurations. The security flaw allows hackers to access any and all personal data stored on the TV.

“We can install malicious software to gain complete root access to the TV,” the video writes.

With this access, hackers can use the Smart TVs built-in camera and microphones to see and hear everything in front of it. Instead of just watching TV, viewers could themselves be watched without knowing it.

But this flaw isn’t present in just one specific model. The vulnerability affects all 11 Samsung televisions of the latest generation. The Smart TVs have many of the same features as a computer, but lack the same kind of protection. You are 100% correct.

I met a couple of them in a RV park in Oregon a few years ago. They were in the space next to me. They invited my wife and I over to have a beer. Seemed 'normal' at first until they started talking politics and the husband insisted I watch some conspiracy bullshit on his laptop saying it would only take an hour. I politely refused but he brought his laptop outside and plopped it on my lap, then got his .45 to show off to me. I placed his laptop on a table, chugged my beer after he called me close-minded, turned to my wife and said 'let's go', thanked him for the beer and left.
Slept that night with one eye open and they pulled out the next day.
