About military spending, lol.... you got a good point, I can tell you that barely 20% goes to the army needs, which will include arms, equipment, new technology, salaries and profit of contractors., and the rest 80% goes to contractors' inflated bills, cuts delivered to military dudes, politicians, you name it.

But look, in several countries, I have watched they use troops to help in this nonsense crisis. Troops are posted in streets to enforce order. But more than order, troops are used to deliver free food to people living in poverty. Troops are posted to keep order at the doors of markets, and while people is waiting outside with the 6 ft distance, a soldier uses a thermometer sensor and check each person's temperature, plus other troops "disinfect" people waiting in the same line with gaseous means like when you use your fire extinguisher.

I was asking myself how the hell those third world countries can do all that while here people is left at their own?

I think the main reason is because here people look for ways to sue the government for anything, and surely corrupt attorneys will find the way to find that their clients have suffered trauma because the spraying method, allergic to the disinfectant, etc.

In other words, it is us. We have created the worst environment against ourselves.

Faking the enforcing of "human rights" many people will go against the disinfectant spraying by the government while you wait your turn for get inside the market, the hardware store, etc.

If two of every three Americans was infected, I'm not sure how government would respond. If the infection rate was closer to 10% knowing who was affected would make it possible to isolate those who are shedding the virus and limit the contagion. If there were thousands of trained contact tracers capable of ascertaining how many other Americans had come in contact with the carriers, we could further restrict the spread of the virus. South Korea had a huge advantage over the US this time because they were severely affected by an earlier contagion; they had a plan already prepared, and their population fully engaged. That doesn't appear to be happening here?

Los Angeles shut down on March 16, and it seems to have worked well. This state hasn't seen the level of infections and death that New York and New Jersey have experienced, but they suffered greatly from the delay in restricting air traffic from Europe. Lately I've seen reports claiming Covid-19 turned up in Europe before the first reported case in China. Time will tell.
