Sotomayor: Retire early?

They are already using those exact words on hate radio.
You people were literally just saying Harris needed to add justices to the court in order to pack the court if she won. Now it's beyond the pale that individual justices would decide when to retire and doing so is somehow "packing the court"?

I can't see Sotomayor stepping down while Trump is in office. She'd have to be dead first, or damn near. And if Thomas and/or Alito decide to retire, they better do it in Trump's 1st 2 years cuz there's a good chance the dems take back the Senate in 2026. That's cuz the GOP has a ton more seats at risk then than the dems do.

Psst:
Republicans aren't allowed to use their political power to enhance/solidify their political power -- only Democrats are allowed to do such things.

True... but look where they are.

Note that JDV's seat will be up in 2026 as well.

∆∆∆∆∆ How to say pack the court without saying "pack the court."

Bullshit. Replacing a justice with another justice is not packing the court, and I think you know that. Packing the court is when you add however many new and extra judges so that your side has a majority. The democrats were all for this back in 2021 and since then as long as they were in power. But to my knowledge no repub has ever supported that.

She's ill and known to not be happy on the bench.
What do you think?
Will she leave the bench while Biden can still replace her?
Should she be pushed, like Biden was?
No, because the Republicans will not allow a vote to replace her, as they can still filibuster her replacement's nomination. She will continue to hang on and likely die in office like Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Then Trump will nominate his 4th SC justice.

She won't leave unless health reasons or something similar force her to. There's no time between now and Inauguration Day to get a new justice in place and Americans will see it for what it is.

They wouldn't care what Americans see, if they could do it.

Seven conservative justices would be great.

Of course it is.
Democrats chose to misuse and abuse the term to mean something else as a means to sway public opinion against Trump adding a conservative justice in place of Ginsburg.
Just another example of how the (D)ishonest prey upon the emotions of the ignorant.

She might. But you know, once they get that power it's tough for them to let go.

Not happening. We need to get Ruthie out. That can be done. The rest is a pipe dream
"We need......"

What you need is a need is an enema.

You jerks wanted to pack the court.

Tough.

She'll goes when she goes.

Hopefully while Trump is President and the GOP holds the senate.
