Someone explain this to me

That's ... That's great. With the exception of #5... The other ones I agree with.

Edit: Liberalism isn't a mental disorder either. It's just like anything else, when someone takes it to the extremes they become something that isn't healthy. It's not any different than some religious nut blowing up a planned parenthood. The religion isn't to blame, it's the moron.

From the DSM. It's the underground edition, but used by practical operations, including the CIA and FBI:

Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is mental disorder of resentment initially triggered by the election of the 50th U.S. President, Donald Trump, in 2016. Behavioral Scientists state the primary source of TDS is media & political propaganda aimed at those most vulnerable, such as students, dependent women, those surrounded by a poor environments and the illiterate. Above all, people that demonstrate TDS are preoccupied with Trump, and as a rule, they're irrational, easily triggered by emotions, and blame others for their problems. The DSM identifies five stages of TDS, as follows:

Stage 1 TDS: A mild form of irrational resentment toward Donald Trump. While these people are easily swayed they're generally carefree and mentally lazy. The side effects for Stage 1 are unremarkable, and doesn't affect one's ability to function normally.

Stage 2 TDS: Stage 2 TDS is a more advanced form of irrational resentment toward Donald Trump, and the most common. Those with Stage 2 TDS are found highly vulnerable to propaganda as a result of their environment or brain injury. A June 2018 study found that over 96% of those diagnosed with Stage 2 TDS demonstrate an alarming lack of intellectual honesty, and over 90% show severe insecurity. Side effects of Stage 2 TDS include a retarded ability to rationalize political and social behaviors. Nearly 50% of those tested demonstrate an inability to function normally, though the extent of TDS' role in this temperament remains under study.

Stage 3 TDS: Stage 3 TDS is an advanced form of irrational resentment toward Donald Trump. It's determined all people with Stage 3 TDS progressed through Stage 2. Those with Stage 3 TDS accept propaganda they desire as "gospel", primarily because they're mentally weak and fear they may melt under the truth. Side effects include the inability to rationalize political and social behaviors. 82% of those tested demonstrate an extreme inability to function normally. While experts agree TDS is the primary cause, the extent of TDS' role in this temperament remains under study.

Stage 4 TDS: Stage 4 TDS is a severe form of irrational resentment toward Donald Trump. There doesn't appear to be a progression from Stage 2 to stage 4 TDS, and behavior scientists observe there are always underlying conditions, such as schizophrenia, manic depression, head injury and/or severe anger issues.

Stage 5 TDS: Stage 5 TDS is the most severe form of irrational resentment toward Donald Trump. The major difference between Stage 5 and 4 TDS is that Stage 5 always progresses from Stage 2 TDS and deemed the primary cause of all subsequent psychological conditions, such as deep paranoia and drug abuse. Side effects of Stage 5 TDS is the inability to process information. Daily tasks such as tying shoes and washing dishes is a challenge, and in some cases undo-able. A February 2019 study concludes that like long-term abuse of methamphetamine, those with Stage 5 TDS are unrecoverable.

Sorry leftist loons. TDS is something you can't redefine, like you do with illegal aliens is now undocumented americans.
TDS is the need for safe spaces, coloring books, therapy animals, scream at the sky night, days of school, youtube rants, moving to Canada, TDS is also spent up anger and hate. Violence and intolerance especially over red hats and tshirts. TDS is the ability to lie to yourself and believe anything that justifies your anger and hate. TDS is losing family members and friends because they have a different viewpoint.
TDS is all of these things because you lost an election.

This is the truth too. Suck it until you change PROGS.

What is Trump Derangement Syndrome? Is it merely a catch phrase, clumsy yet succinct? Or are there issue stances that define it? Or is it the absence of total devotion to Donald Trump?
Just asking that question may mean your case isn't terminal.

Many here at USMB, including myself, mimic and/or ridicule those who have regular outbursts of irrationality often regarding the POTUS, his fam, his policies, his tweets, his appearance, his ... well ... his everything. As the phenomenon is widespread - afflicting millions of Americans including much of NY, Cali, the media, and WashDC - Psychology Today tackled the issue of whether TDS is a real mental disorder. In that the mass hysteria is readily observable behavior, the author - an assistant professor of psychiatry at McGill U - concludes that "Such people may need mental health support."

If you still cry yourself to sleep every stinkin' night, awake on the angry, bitter side of the bed every stinkin' morning, and obsess all stinkin' day long, I respectfully suggest you at least consider committing yourself for observation.

Is "Trump Derangement Syndrome" a Real Mental Condition?
"Many have argued that some people have been seriously disturbed and distressed by the policies, speech, behavior and tweets of President Trump, so much so that it has affected their cognitive, affective and behavioral functioning. Such people may need mental health support." - Rob Whitley, Ph.D.

It’s the opposite of TDS*

*Trump Devotional Syndrome
You people are so pathetic you can't even create your own unique acronym

It's simply the observation that some people will never be able to say or think anything good about Trump,
I've observed it. The term is way overused though. A lot of us have specific reasons for being pissed off at the Pres or embarrassed by him and when we say so on those specific instances, we get a blanket dismissal as "TDS." Maybe it makes people feel better to think that anyone who criticizes the Pres is a nutcase, so go ahead if you must. But it's not true half the time. In our opinion, he sometimes deserves to be criticized.

when the criticism appears to be rote, devoid of any actual concern over policy, then its TDS.

Trump Derangement Syndrome Individual: Upon the evening of the 2016 election results showing Trump won....their response: NOOOOO! He's Not Our President! Resist! Impeach! He Colluded with Russia! He's evil! He will destroy America! He will destroy our Constitution!
And no matter what he does, these individuals continue to wail about his presidency.
Yeah...he does attack his attackers in his Tweets...good for him. Unlike Romney and others like Romney, he doesn't cower before the so-called Democrat party.

If you aren't part of the cult, you are TDS.

If you criticize Trump or his policies, it's TDS.

If you call out his lies, it's TDS.

If you don't believe in alternative facts, it's TDS.

If you refuse to buy into conspiracy theories, it's TDS.

It describes the mentally ill a.k.a. the Democrat (Communist) Party.

There is nothing deranged. Almost every trump policy has failed. Tax cuts didn't pay for themselves, nor give us 4-6% growth. Mexico isn't paying for the wall. Trade wars aren't easy to win and they hurt our economy. He's not paying down the debt. We didn't get the best healthcare. He sure can't handle a pandemic.... The only deranged ones still follow this guy.

There is no such thing – save that of a failed, pathetic attempt by Trump supporters to deflect appropriate, warranted, and factual criticism of Trump.

In your case, sometimes is everyday. That's sure sign of TDS.

That's not true... Not of everyone who supports him at any rate. Lord knows I doubt the Oldlady and I would get a long very well on most things. But we agree on this. It's overused. TDS is for the bigots. If you aren't a bigot, you don't have it. Having someone you don't respect say you have it, doesn't change that.
