What a shame that Guantamo was never set up to actually try and convict these prisoners - according to international or domestic law.

Who knows, they could be imprisoned forever - or executed.

They were going to be tried by military tribunals years ago. It was some liberal lawyers, including Holder's law firm, that stepped in and stopped the trials in an attempt to guarantee civilian trials instead.

Still amazes me that the left wanted the terrorists to be treated like American citizens, with all rights, and yet they don't insist on the same for an innocent Marine being held in Mexico. Seriously, couldn't Obama trade 5 illegal alien criminals for the guy? Or at least talk to the Mexican government and let them know that they should show some respect for our people considering how the illegal aliens here in America have helped the Mexican government by sending billions in remittances each year. If they thought we were going to cut off the cash flow, they might come around.

Meanwhile, Obama helps terrorists more than he helps citizens.

The terrorists at GITMO would have been tried, and hopefully convicted, over a decade ago if not for the lawyers.

Do you know why Guantanamo Bay is in Cuba and not the United States? It's so that US law doesn't apply there. Therefore, lawyers don't apply there. Are you ******* retarded?

Lawyers don't have shit to say about anything in Guantanamo. Why are those prisoners there? Because they're terrorists? Why are these terrorists so important that they have to remain in custody, force-fed during hunger strikes after ten years, when President George W. Christ could have just killed them like any other terrorists and said, "**** international human rights laws. They were terrorists."

Why does the GOP insist on keeping those terrorists as prisoners but no one has any problem with killing other terrorists without charges or trials? Why do those Guantanamo prisoners need any kind of trial, military or civilian?

He is still an American citizen who has the right to due process as every american. You know that Constitution you say you love so much yet have no clue what's in there.

We tried for 5 years with no luck to find him. We probably got the best deal we could and got him back to give him his day in court if charges are brought.

Let's not be pissed that our government got back it's American citizens locked up abroad. Not everything is political.

HE was more worthy for a drone strike then was the 16 year old American that Obama DID take out without due process.

Only the kids father was taken out because he was deemed a threat for joining the terrorist group who planned and executed the 9-11 attacks on New York and DC. The 16 year old was not a target and is considered collateral damage. But you know that........
