He knows exactly what he is saying. He just happens to think for himself, rather than what he has had preached to him all his life.

I think that's it, I didn't view it as generalized. If his message started out with "Every person should" instead of "Every black person should" it wouldn't have struck me like the exclusivity I find troubling in the Black Lives Matter message.

P.S. I just want to be clear I'm not against his message. It is that as a white person, I'm uncomfortable involving myself with what blacks should do. I'm sure my position would be based on my non-black judgement.

Sorry, but you did not sound as if you did get it. For you to listen to 2 minutes or less of a 12 minute video, I would guess, well, you need to listen to the entire thing to know what he actually was saying.
That's like reading 2 pages of a book for a test, and draw conclusions off that, for the test. You would probably fail the test.
