Mind blowing that republicans on this board, day in and day out, remind democrats that they were the scummy slave owners and the party of most of the KKK, while the republicans were the pure and holy party of Lincoln...

Yet,
It's republicans now who wrap themselves in the confederate flag, and fight tooth and nail to keep these Democrat confederate hero statues up, and front and forward, in the public...while the Democrats are ready to remove these once heroes of theirs.

If the confederate heroes and general's were The Democrats as you republican ad nauseam remind us....

WHY are you Republicans so so so so upset about us dems removing our statues of our once heroes?
Their lies and garbage ate Kkkrystal Kkklear to see. Yet, like their lying President, they go boring through at full-force with their pablum.

Remembering the past in history is good. Progs are at the forefront of that. Erasing the past in history is not good. Progs are at the forefront of that. A monument or monuments to slaves and those indentured everywhere at every time in history no matter their background in any way is most likely needed to help soothe wounds that exist today. And if this continues, there will be no satisfaction and peace unless people alive or recently deceased who have abused others in any way no matter their backgrounds, are taken to justice and restitution made to those affected. Does our nation have the courage to do that? For your changes that you want need to do this. And there are those on all sides guilty.

I dont wrap myself in the Confederate flag, lol, but I am against airbrushing over our history.

And if the people of a state, through their state congress decides to take some down or move them, I dont think it is a good idea but I am fine with that, if the people really want it.

But it should go through the legal process of elections and congresscritters voting on the record, not some hooligan Chicom stooges pulling them down in acts of vandalism.

That is illegal and should be stopped, but the Dims are too stupid to stop them.
Isn't celebrating insurrectionists, by any legal definition and losers of wars ODD?

I don't think having the losers plastered everywhere in stone, in public places is telling history.... it's honoring traitors, not heroes or history.

The statues belong in museums, with their story in history, properly preserved.

No, because the South fought the war very well given the circumstances, and afterwards we all wanted to reconcile and reunite the country.

So Confederate soldiers were absorbed into the military status as American veterans as if they served in the US army.

These Antifa scum are thhus desecrating American war heros, not just Confederates.

Technically the former US Army officers betrayed their oath, but it depends, because the declaration of each state for indiependence followed an old European medieval tradition of appealing to the Pope to sever a bond between lord and serf or knight based on intolerable mistreatment. So by their own system of values their oaths were made void in that respect.

Alsopeople of the country back then held their loyalties to their individual states to be higher than their loyalty to the US Republic as a whole.

They pledged allegiance to their states instead of the US Republic.

That sounds resp[ectable, but it is up to the whole citizenry to make that choice, not vandals.

It was in world war 2, where forts were named after confederate, during the Jim crow era, while blacks gave their lives fighting for all of us.....

And the statues were erected during Jim Crow era also, but in the early1900s, from what I've read and heard.

That was 40 thru 80 years after the civil war....

And not meant to heal....right after the war....

So do Southerners now admit that the slave owners were their ancestors, the now Republican, but previously Democratic, ancestors?

Republicans know that it is asinine to try to erase history, idiot.

Statues are "art" and represent real history, not the politically correct history the democrats want.
After the civil war statues, what's next? The Founding Fathers? Let the MFs try to go after them.

What's next will be whatever the leftist come up with to pacify their white guilt that has been installed in them by academia, the media and democrats.

History should be preserved, in museums, where the story in History, can be told, forever...

Should I go on?

What in the hell are you talking about?

Republicans are rooting themselves against destruction of property and looting.

I'm not asking for anyone to apologize.... but, even though those statues and confederate flag, are my ancestors and ancestry, I have no problem having them moved to museums...where history, can be preserved...

They were not erected to be some kind of remembrance or healing of war wounds.... They were politically erected, by racists pushing racism....

Maybe now, white people view them in less of a racist manner and view them as simply history... but that's not why they were initially put up, from what I've read....

Actually a lot of veterans lived past 1900, and of course Segregationist Democrats liked erecting m onuments to the Confederacy well into the 1950s, and this was supported by many non-racists as part of legislative deals struck in Congress.

Well, you should broaden your reading.

So what about buildings and bridges etc dedicated to members of the KKK and avowed segregationists, like Richard Russell for whom the Senate office building is named, a co-writer of the Southern Manifesto that swore to fight desegregation for ever?

How about all the structures dedicated and name after Senator Byrd who was a KKK Grand Wizard? Do have any idea how many of those there are?

And why are these Antifa idiots desecrating statues to Lincoln, and freed blacks, and Black military units and ABOLITIONISTS?

Because this is not about hatred fo merely Confederate history, but all of our history, and hatred for European civilization as a whole, that is why.
