Yeah the abuse of trucks rolling on solar cells? Damage?

And what we need are messages appearing on our roads.

Snow?

well, don't discount it entirely. Sand is the main ingredient in glass, or maybe energy is....

I could see solar crosswalks coming to the USA.

Glass is expensive, will require robust foundations, but it is quite strong. It prolly makes a lot more sense to build buildings out of solar panels tho. Or just roofs. Or just windows. Roads made of solar panels just sounds crazy!

Yep solar roofing and building materials makes more sense.

it would be kind of funny to be trapped in the future in endless gridlock while teams of nerds and nerdettes repaired freeways!

LOL, Yep and all controlled by the net.....

Building going solar makes more sense. We use more energy in our buildings than our vehicles anyway.

NO! I don't want idiots crashing all over my house and such.
Keep em on the roads.

This idea is about as practical as the one that NUT was selling in here the other day about Teams of Mobile wind turbines chasing storms around the country :)

With present technology, we could do this in parking lots, and residential streets. Freeways, that going to take some real strong material, perhaps something like the graphenes that are being played with in the labs at present.

And, of course, 4 of the solos from "Shut Up N Play Yer Guitar" are different version of Inca Roads.

Sounds very exspensive
