Floyd was a piece of shit, and he should have been killed during the commission of his crimes.

That said, as far as I'm concerned that cop killed him. I don't think he intended to, but he did not properly follow procedure and put Floyd in a position that allowed him to breath easier. It's one of the first things you learn when you get restraint training, and you damn sure don't put weight on a suspect's chest after he has been cuffed and is lying flat on his chest.

If he'd been kept in prison where he belonged he'd probably still be alive. Or if the pregnant woman he held at gun point had killed him we'd all have been better off.

Or maybe he'd have become a productive member of society who turned his life around. We will never know because Derek Chauvin murdered him over what was probably a minor oversight.
