A philosophy, if one can give it the compliment of such high classification, of the modern American left is to immediately cancel or destroy anyone or anything who is provably (or not) less than perfect or flawless. I find this tendency of leftist ideology to be particularly loathsome and craven on a very deep personal level.

Take the American left's treatment of Donald John Trump. Our President is not a perfect man. He hasn't even been a "good" man all his life. According to some reasonable moral standards he might not even be a decent man. Nevertheless, Donald Trump is a man who finds himself very suddenly at the reins of the history of human civilization. Whatever he does next; next minute, next hour, next month—could very well change the course of history forever and determine whether or not our nation and the human race survives. He's been locked into this grand scale fatalistic life or death state of existence for nearly four years. Four years of every waking moment spent risking the fate of the entire species, and we're all still here, speaking to us as a national people, civilization and still surviving race, the human one. Thus his actions and ultimate character must be judged not on his past or present person; his history or personality, but on his ability to hold perhaps the most important and vital job (and stressful one) in the entire world, without killing us all.

But rather than see the whole picture which is Donald John Trump and treat and react to it accordingly, the American left would rather cancel or destroy this man who holds the planet in his hands, while he actually still holds it. This is the way of modern leftism: to destroy the flawed, the imperfect; the HUMAN, and to simultaneously seek perfection, even knowing no such perfection ever did or can exist. Another contradiction.

What the American left is doing is finding and exposing flaws in the people and ideas and institutions which threaten its power or ideological supremacy, and then using said flaws to shame otherwise overall priceless people or people who believe in "flawed" concepts or objects or icons, into doubting and ultimately drowning in self-applied humiliation.

Take the nation that is our United States of America for a second example. The core fundamental foundation or philosophical bedrock of our nation's founding is this: individual freedom, liberty, personal responsibility and equality in the eyes of our Creator, from birth. Prior to the founding of the United States, the sole philosophy that praised or even recognized the idea of individual rights and the unique, individual mind independent of whatever social group, was Christianity, or to be more precise, Christ himself. Many philosophers, poets and scribes romanticized the concept of individual agency within the greater mass of a society, but never saw their musings brought to fruition in the form of an actual government until the USA was founded.

The USA is not a historically perfect, flawless, righteous nation; what the USA is, is the damn best alternative to every other nation since time immemorial which has preceded it. Again, if one closely examines the overall history of our nation one will clearly see how its merits for the survival and advancement of human civilization far outweigh any of its flaws, or harm done against the forward march of our species.

But the American left doesn't want to see the whole historical picture of America. The American left would rather cancel and/or destroy our entire nation for the flaws it dwells upon and endlessly rants about. Once again, the left claims to seek ultimate perfection while overtly and loudly preaching, through postmodernist thought, that nothing is absolutely one thing or the other, ever. Another contradiction.

Can we all see where this is going? Huh? Can we? Even if the American left reigns victorious by election or revolution, no person it can find to champion as it's leader nor institution nor ideology it can create, can ever be allowed to survive because by its own fundamental philosophy, imperfection and flaw must be cancelled or destroyed; suicide.

During Christ's short life the devil taunted him many times. Perhaps the most devious tactic Old Scratch ever used was finding and dwelling on Christ's own personal failures and flaws for the premeditated purpose of causing to grow within him deep self-doubt and so much humiliation Christ would (hopefully) give up and run and hide until his dying day. But Christ saw through this satanic tactic, realized that he was more than the sum of any of his flaws or imperfections, and the rest is history.

Whatever else we Americans do in the near future we must not let the democrats or radical American left cancel our voices or destroy our resolve to fight for our own and our nation's survival. We're all flawed; we've all made mistakes. No one among us is perfect. Why? Because we're human.

Tramp goes places Christ never even thought about or would according to the scriptures.

We must vote for Biden as tramp just put another nail in the ACA and the war on women.

As always, very well stated. I fear what the Left has done is create a precedent for attacking, demonizing, dehumanizing and ridiculing the man (or woman) elected to be President FROM THE VERY FIRST DAY IN OFFICE. That is a terrible prospect, but that is what Democrats and their Media have done to America.

Very true
Donald Trump has found himself in charge during the worst pandemic in a hundred years. He is the most unsuited man in history to handle it.
He is more concerned with his own political career. He is intellectually unable to grasp the magnitude of this virus and for the most part....does not care.

From day one, he just wanted this thing to go away and his urging of people to just ignore it has given us the most infections in the world

Such short memories...

"On the night of Barack Obama’s inauguration, a group of top GOP luminaries quietly gathered in a Washington steakhouse to lick their wounds and ultimately create the outline of a plan for how to deal with the incoming administration.

“The room was filled. It was a who’s who of ranking members who had at one point been committee chairmen, or in the majority, who now wondered out loud whether they were in the permanent minority,” Frank Luntz, who organized the event, told FRONTLINE.

Among them were Senate power brokers Jim DeMint, Jon Kyl and Tom Coburn, and conservative congressmen Eric Cantor, Kevin McCarthy and Paul Ryan.

After three hours of strategizing, they decided they needed to fight Obama on everything. The new president had no idea what the Republicans were planning."

I'm certain that using Christ as a measure of perfection suits your ideology well in the service of cancelling the life of another human being. You not only missed the point of this thread, but you never even saw it. I don't think your mind, running on postmodernist cancel culture, is capable of seeing or understanding human nature on any level other that dictated directly to you.

Exactly. The person they celebrate one day as a member of a protected class the next day becomes inhuman scum. The entire epistemology all leftist thought is contradiction to itself. Case in point the democrats on one hand gleefully celebrate the mass murder of the unborn as badge of honor, while the other hand weeps for detained immigrant children who if fucking born in America in the first place very likely could have been aborted and never existed according to democrat mantra. Contradiction.

Abortion has been legal in this country for close to fifty years. The decision has been delegated to a woman and her medical professional to abort the pregnancy.

Abusing living children for no other reason than they lack the proper paperwork is not the same.

Hardly an equivalence, not even close. Even before Donald John Trump was elected the American left, along with the then sitting POTUS and his VP, was conspiring to sabotage his election and laying out plans and contingencies to both "deal" with and prevent not only a Trump presidency but to thwart the legal outcome of the election should he be victorious.

Having failed to prevent DJT's election to the White House, the American left then began a series of unprecedented and often illegal attempts to remove him from office, which included collusion with foreign intelligence agencies, terrorist organizations and other anti-American forces. One could even compare these many attempted "soft" putsch attempts to the plagues brought against the Egyptians in ancient times.

As if all of that wasn't enough to prove the democrats were willing to go to any lengths to depose DJT, they encouraged their voters and radical myrmidon to attack any fellow American who dared wear, about their persons, any clothing or paraphernalia bearing our President's name or campaign slogan.

But still the democrats were not finished with their attack on our President and their own nation. There's a whole metric fuck ton of evidence mounting that points to democrat collusion with communist China to import the novel coronavirus. There's mounting evidence that suggests democrat collusion with China to import tens of thousands of fucking full-auto assault rifles into America to be distributed to BLM and Antifa terrorists. Even supposing none of that is true, democrats have overtly voiced their support for BLM and Antifa, for terrorists, and egged on their looting, maiming and killing of Trump supporters in blatant attempts to suppress conservative voters this fall.

All in the name of deposing Donald John Trump from office the democrats have waged open, in the streets war against their own nation. They've betrayed, cheated, stolen, lied, caused death and destruction and lent aid and comfort to our enemies.

Nothing, and I mean nothing the republicans did to interfere with Insane Obama's presidency comes close to comparing with the democrats' attack on every level of American civilization all in the name of getting rid of our great President.

It WAS perfect ... and it still got cancelled. There is no justice, social or otherwise...

Tramp goes places Christ never even thought about or would according to the scriptures.

We must vote for Biden as tramp just put another nail in the ACA and the war on women.

I, in good conscience, could not vote for either.
So you not going to vote, if you write someone in , you voted for tramp.

Because of Biden's total lack of charisma and nearly non-existent campaign, there will be millions of "stay-home" votes for President Trump.

No one is going to stop watching Netflix to vote for Sleepy Joe Biden.

I’m voting for a third party, and before you go off on the “you voted for Trump” BS, Republicans accused me of voting for Hillary, so rubes can argue why you voted for morons, I’m voted for a better choice, not liars and crooks of a two party monstrosity that will never change because of stupid voters, such as yourself.

Whatever else we Americans do in the near future we must not let the democrats or radical American left cancel our voices or destroy our resolve to fight for our own and our nation's survival. We're all flawed; we've all made mistakes. No one among us is perfect. Why? Because we're human.

Yeah, FOX News didn't have Citizen Trump on dozens of times to question the legitimacy of President Obama. The left and the media - you guys are a hoot.

To me, the only reason why anything bad is said is because the freedom to say whatever bad is said at all is out there. To me, the attention should just be appreciated because its better than being ignored completely. Even bad things help get the word out about stuff. What story people choose to go flying with though at the end of the day will be all up to them. To me, the best way to make your decision about anything may be to have your own personal experience instead of going on what is coming from another person.

God bless you always!!!

P.S. This makes me think of the season three episode Family Matters episode when Laura sadly had to find out for herself that Daniel Wallace was a word that I can't say. Unfortunately the heads up that she got from her best friend was not enough.

A philosophy, if one can give it the compliment of such high classification, of the modern American left is to immediately cancel or destroy anyone or anything who is provably (or not) less than perfect or flawless.

Maybe they learned it from the Christian Coalition
