I don't know why it is so hard to understand. State and local authorities have NO OBLIGATION to assist in federal law enforcement. NONE. ZERO. And it has always been that way. You think the local sheriff in Watauga county doesn't know where all the moonshine stills are? You think he is going to take the revenue man out there?

You're either dense or deliberately misstating the facts, i.e. lying. No one wants local or state police to "assist" ICE rounding up illegals, period. We do want local and state police to honor ICE detainers when they arrest someone that ICE wants, i.e. to hand them over safely in jail, rather than releasing them into the community where ICE needs to re-arrest them putting the public in danger unnecessarily. Or to do crowd control to keep radicals from getting hurt.

What the state of Minnesota does have is a responsibility to protect the constitutional rights, provided by the state Constitution of Minnesota, of the people within the state. And no, the state is not doing that. Some of the ICE agents need to be locked up. Some need to be held accountable, Civil Rights violations, at the state level. You get no "immunity"

Federal Law supersedes State Law, its called "the Supremacy Clause".
