Then you saw him take Putin's peace plan and call it his own, to the chagrin of his cabinet members
That's not exactly the entirety of American foreign policy.

a) Most of your pals in the Trump cult have proven themselves to be neocons.Probably because
A). I'm not a neocon. And
B). Because I didn't jump all over you about anything two weeks ago.
The ordeal is really about China and Russia. If I cannot make a deal with you, I will tamper with your interest. Unfortunately, Maduro is the current whipping boy for the US just like when Saddam Hussein was the whipping boy for the US. Billions of dollars in contracts belonging to China and Russia were nullified after the invasion of Iraq.Admit what? That another country violated the law and illegally took resources belonging to the USA that Trump is going to rectify in the interests of our country? Remember, Trump has a team of expert lawyers advising him on everything he does, what the law is, what their rights are, and what are OUR rights.
So I will sit back with interest and watch to see what plays out before I draw any conclusions. I think the big picture in all of this is that Trump is really after stopping China taking any further hold of the Caribbean right next to our borders.
Same with Greenland and Panama--- Trump is trying to stop Chinese influence from gaining any further dominance in our own back yard. Like a good leader, Trump is not just looking 6 months down the road but 25 years down the road.
Wow. 1976. Really. So we wait nearly 50 years to declare war on them for helping them develop their oil fields? So much for "the President of peace." He should rename himself the "Conman of the Century." Way more appropriate.Another Trump Hater displaying his ignorance. The US developed the Venezuelan oil drilling and refining infrastructure prior to Venezuela "nationalizing" oil in 1976. Class dismissed.
They did a lot of that to themselves. Our ideas of nation building may have caused more problems. As though the US has not destabilised South America for most of the last century.
You want me to address Venezuelan's history? Let's start with the basics. Their land -- their oil. How's that? What makes you think we're 'stealing oil'? Why do you refuse to address the history?
Things can be more one than one thing. Stop the Chinese expansion, take down Maduro, reduce the flow of drugs to USSo, it's not "war on drugs", it's not "returning of oil". It is not about health and wealth of American people. Those are actions against people of Venezuela and China. And, therefore, those people have now right to retaliate.

China can get oil from lots of places. But if it's China he has a beef with then why start a war with Venezuela. That makes NO SENSE whatsoever.
I just told you, he doesn't want them to have a foothold in this hemisphereChina can get oil from lots of places. But if it's China he has a beef with then why start a war with Venezuela. That makes NO SENSE whatsoever.
Trump has yet to order the military to fire upon the Venezuelan government or their military. He knows Maduro will cave without the need to fire a shot.

If this country is so bad, why don't you go live in VenezuelaNo he won’t and the actions the US is making Maduro more popular in Venezuela.
Nothing brings a population together than a shared enemy.
Just a couple of months ago Progressives were on a several month mission accusing Trump of isolationism.Because the US is too weak to take on anyone but tiny 3rd nations.
Yeah this is the flavor of the dayJust a couple of months ago Progressives were on a several month mission accusing Trump of isolationism.

Because this is how the US foreign policy works regardless who is president. Why do you think the US has hundreds of military bases and outposts around the world? I will say that it's hypocritical that the three biggest countries responsible for keeping people from fighting one another are the biggest arms dealers in the world and as permanent members of the UN security council. You want me to address Venezuelan's history? Let's start with the basics. Their land -- their oil. How's that?
Nevertheless ... "the President of peace" has no business messing with Venezuela at all. Am I a fan of Maduro? Probably not but I know that he doesn't pose a direct threat to the USA. But I'm not a fan of LOTs of world leaders. It wouldn't give me the right to antagonize them for my personal pleasure or benefit.Trump has yet to order the military to fire upon the Venezuelan government or their military. He knows Maduro will cave without the need to fire a shot.
