So much for discussion of the GOAT

That’s certainly possible. He might never get back to another SB let alone win one but last nights game isn’t the determining factor in this.
Yep....Philly Front 4 were at the top of their game and the rest of the defense responded well also. Defense put the Philly offense in great opportunities and the kicker was outstanding. Not much Mahomes could do.

Over Brady's first three SB runs combined he threw for 1 more TD than Mahomes in his first SB run. Mahomes is 100% not the GOAT and has a long way to go before it's reasonable to have an actual discussion about that but the idea that Brady cant be overtaken as the GOAT is ridiculous.

In terms of skills, Brady is nowhere close to what Mahomes can do on the field. But Brady is still the GOAT.
Brady has seven rings, to beat him will take eight.
I don’t think that can be done….Mahomes sits with three

Even on lifetime total yards and TDs I don’t think Brady can be touched. Like you said, Brady started slow and was an average QB. But look at Brady from 40-45 and he was still a top 5 QB and still winning 2 championships.
I don’t think Mahomes can do that

When the Chiefs were down 10-0 I just thought they were not focused and the old Mahomes would start his comeback and it would soon be a FG game, and then he threw the pick 6 and I knew the Super Bowl was over, you knew he wasn't coming back from that, and he didn't.

The Chiefs are a tight fisted organization, imagine how good this team could have been if they kept Tyreek and established a running game to help out Mahomes. Their stadium is one of the worst in the NFL.

The glory days of Super Bowl wins is over. Give much credit to Mahomes and Reid for all they accomplished with what they had to work with. What got them this far was inept ownership in Buffalo and bad coaching in Baltimore and another cheap owner in Cincy.
They don't have that defense if they don't trade Hill. They won 2 back to back without him and went to a third. The NFL isnt baseball, you cant just pay everyone you want whatever you want.

Brady had a better team around him than Mahomes, and Brady had a better football mind, he knew exactly how to target a weakness in the defense and knew defensive schemes as well as the defensive players did. Mahomes relies more on improvisation and waiting for someone to get open, there was no time for that last night, and Mahomes looked like he was unprepared for the defensive pressure, like he was surprised by it. They looked completely unprepared last night.

The Chiefs defense was prepared for the most part, they shut down Barkley's running game but Hurts was able to beat their one on one coverage. Mahomes saw little one on one coverage all night, Vic Fangio drew up the perfect defensive plan last night against this team and deserves a lot of credit for this win.

Philly was so dominant, but the Chiefs still played like dogshit.

Interesting stat: Patrick Mahomes has thrown more Super Bowl interceptions than Tom Brady.

Brady has played in twice as many Super Bowls.

True. Still Barkley as a major factor for the Eagles in getting there. The Chiefs O line was a mess.

Barkley should have been NFL MVP, not Allen.
Agreed. Even though they missed the playoffs Joe Burrow statistically had the best year of any QB. The Bengals defense stunk. Burrow could have won that as well.

No one is saying Brady isnt the GOAT. Even leading up to this SB the contention was IF Mahomes wins 3 in a row then it's possible to have the discussion. That didnt happen so... That said if the Chiefs win the next 3, Mahomes is league MVP once and SB MVP 3 times he's not the GOAT? There's a better chance that they dont go to another SB than doing that but if they did Mahomes would definitely be considered the GOAT.

At the same point in their respective careers (7 years starting) Brady had 10k less yards, 50 fewer TD's 12 more picks etc etc. Mahomes won't have to play nearly as long to eclipse Brady stat wise. Part of that is the NFL has changed; Reid is an offensive minded coach and Belichick was defensive etc. At his current rate Mahomes will have to play 17 years to achieve stat wise what Brady took 23 to do. Mahomes hasn't had any serious injuries and he's just entering what's considered the "prime" of his career. The Chiefs have 3 other wildly talented QB's to contend with in Lamar, Josh and Joe but I imagine one of those guys probably doesn't win a SB in their career. Yeah, I'm looking at you Cincy fan.

Brady is GOAT on raw numbers sure, but Joe Montana is ahead of Brady in one key stat. Montana 4 SB wins, no losses and most important No turnovers. Brady for all his numbers did have some interceptions and fumbles in Super Bowls. Montana did not.

Chiefs first 9 drives in the Super Bowl

No third down conversions, with two takeaways, and Eagles were up 34-0 in the 3rd quarter, that is what you call a beatdown.

It's no longer where this dynasty stands amongst the all time greats, it was where this Super Bowl stands amongst the all time beatdowns.

Mahomes stats rely on his physical skills and mobility. Brady was a classic pocket passer. Yes, Mahomes has much better stats than Brady had at this point in his career.

But Mahomes game is more susceptible to injury and his speed will not last into his 40s. Brady was a freak after age 40 with 2 SBs, 23,000 yards, 160 TDs

He did win Comeback Player of the Year, kind of a consolation prize, that guy's performance this year in spite of no defense elevated him in my eyes into the conversation for the best QB in the NFL

That alone makes him the GOAT, not sure anyone will ever match that. Someone with Mahomes skill and Brady's commitment has to find the right team and coach to play for. It all has to match to catch Brady.

These days, all time greats like LeBron and Brady can play into their 40's and that is what is most amazing to me. It was sad watching MJ when he was approaching 40.

Credit to MJ, a quick look shows he averaged 37 minutes in his last season as well as 20 points on a bad Wizards team, so no disrespect there.

Same stupid argument they make about Jordon not losing in the finals. Losing before the SB isnt better than losing in the SB.

A team that lost in the Super Bowl still won the NFC or AFC championship

Montana only won four NFC Championships while Brady won 10 Conference Championships

I don’t care if Mahomes somehow wins five more Superbowls to pass Brady.

In ten Superbowls, Brady never put up a stinker like Mahomes did last night. Up through three quarters, Mahomes did not pass midfield, threw two interceptions that led to scores and a strip sack. Maybe the worst performance ever.

I don’t care what he did in garbage time in the fourth quarter while Philly was already celebrating on the sideline.

Mahomes stunk
I really didn't pay much attention in the 4th. I wonder if the Eagles backed off just a little because they knew they probably had it in hand. Players don't want to get hurt at the end of a game. Now if they had a shutout going, then I could see them playing hard to preserve that.

I'm not saying Eagles' players made a conscious effort to slack off on defense, but maybe a player is just slightly more careful about the way he tackles or something like that.
