“Our history, and the things we did and had done to us are important to remember. It's our origin story. But we can not let ourselves to be anchored to past indiscretions committed against us. We can not let the profound possibilities of our, and our prodigies futures be limited by our history of being subjugated and victimized. We can not be the proxy victims of our ancestors. It's time for us to seek out equality and not be harnessed by those that seek gain by labeling, and thus limiting, us as perpetual victims with no recourse but to accept the scraps off their table, accept their largesse, and to accept their low expectations of us. It's time we loudly proclaim that we are here! We are capable! We are strong! We will no longer accept second class citizenship in return for political loyalty! It's time we demanded an education system, unburdened by low expectations and lower standards so that I children can compete in the modern world! It's time we policed ourselves of the social ills that plague our inner cities! No one can do it for us. They self destructive practices that enslave our children to a lifetime of crime and government dependency ENDS NOW! It's time to raise our own expectations and quit limiting ourselves by hiding behind past indignities and rigged systems! We can. And we must, if we want our part of the American dream.
