The Buff and the Bear are both about the same age. The B-52H was produced around 1963 and so was the Bear. There were earlier models of both of them dating back to 1957.

I lived on a ranch at Live Oak and San Timoteo Canyons outside of Redlands. I would ride up to the top of the hills to the south that provided a panoramic view of March AFB where the very first B-52s were being put into operation. From miles away, the roar of those engines as they forced those monsters into the air was unforgettable.
