Occasionally I revisit this masterpiece and have yet to find the match. Placido Domingo did one fairly well, Pavarotti also...
But nobody touches this one by Gigli.

 
Gigli is as good as Pavarotti, yes, but no better.
 
Have you heard this one? I always liked it. Not taking away from the original ,just joining in.


Domingo is definitely great...
First time I've heard this combo.
 
I knew a community college English instructor who used Pavarotti and Gigli in his freshman composition courses.

Great post! I still have to go with Pavarotti's version at The Three Tenors concert. But it's really close.

I don't know Gigli seems to own the vincero triplet at the end. But there's no question that Pavarotti's version is spectacular. Also Gigli has infused some of the earlier versus with that crying overtone. It's so powerful!
