Votto (as well as the OP) is as usual seriously confused. The US had Chattel Slavery. A horse of a whole different color (pardon the pun): There are more people today than in the past. Slavery is now outlawed in many counties. I bet the focus is on the transatlantic slave trade. Ignoring world history when Empires ruled most of the known world.
