FYI-
Violent crime has gone down in D.C. for the past 3 years, at a pretty hefty weight....
I wouldn't mess with the good trend lowering crime.
If crime was trending higher year after year...it'd be a different story.
"Crime" is a major industry in DC. Trump needs to clean it up so its safe to walk the streets.

Oh, so it's the victims' faults? You know they were in stupid places with stupid people doing stupid things because you were there and witnessed the whole thing?

Or is it because he worked for Elon Musk in the DOGE Dept and therefore must be a terrible kid who deserved what happened to him.
/-----/ It was late at night, and BB was not the original target. He came to the rescue against your precious little juvenile delinquents.

Evidently MAGA hero Big Balls got beat up by a fifteen year old boy and girl. :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg:

"Nineteen-year-old Coristine — who is known for his online moniker "Big Balls" — was allegedly surrounded and assaulted by a group of approximately 10 teenagers near his car early Sunday morning, according to a report from the Metropolitan Police Department. Two 15-year-olds were arrested and charged with unarmed carjacking."

It's a sad day in the country when the violence in our Nation's Capital is trying to be squashed by the POTUS and there are those that think it's bad. There is a small percentage of the population that is allowed to behave and act in ways that brings no value to our country, but in fact, brings with them devaluation of our cities and properties, and the fact that some of you will defend their actions and speak against actions that want to squash this small minority of criminals, is indefensible.

The DC was set up to serve as the Federal seat, separate and independent from the states, and worked ok until 1973 with the home rule act. Probably a good idea, and of course it progressed into a liberal shit hole and paved the way for tribal leaders like Marion Barry. Way out of control, and an embarrassment for tourists and people that work there.

The point is to look for every excuse possible to leverage federal power and assert local & state military authority.

They're just getting started. Low-hanging fruit first. They're following the historical template fairly effectively.

Maybe we'll see them in black uniforms soon

The D.C. crime rate has been reduced every year for the past three years...don't mess up and try to change a good trend... Is how I view it! If crime had continued to climb higher the past 3 years then there may be reason for CONGRESS to step in, but NOT the President! (The president has so many more important things to handle!)

The Constitution dictates that the federal district be under the jurisdiction of the US Congress.

DC is still a lawless mess. Trump needs to take control and make it safe for people again.
Congress can take control, but the president "executes" that control.

I very much like the idea of Trump taking control of DC.

The thing is, the fed originally DID control and run DC. Then years ago, some genius came up with the idea of "Home Charter" and passed a bill declaring the capitol run like any ordinary city with an elected mayor, etc., etc.

Not sure if undoing that would require a new Bill, which would need 60 Senate votes, unlikely.

Trump doesn't know how to run a city or calm things down or improve crime rates....he's proven such time and time again....and according to the CONSTITUTION, it is not the President's job, nor should it be....for goodness sake! We have a gazillion National and International issues he should be spending his time doing that are Constitutional and assigned to him.

Trump can not be your Savior Of All Things....

Trump-45 learned many hard lessons during that maiden voyage.

Trump-47 now knows who to put in-charge to get results. DC needs a firm hand, and Trump would be it, via Homan, or Kristie Noem, or Giuliani, or Nikki Haley, or any other competent manager.

Real prosecutors and real cops for a change.

Could Trump Actually Take Over DC?

It would be difficult, but not impossible, to overturn Home Rule in the capital.

Typical dictator power grab, predicated on false propaganda.

FACT: Violent crime in D.C. has been on the decline since 2023.

So you believe Trump should now nationalize Washington? Anything else? We could use ICE and the Army.
It doesn’t appear that DC residents are able to govern themselves. Look at the crime-ridden mess it’s become. I haven’t been down there since pre-COVID.

Are Black immigrants also eating pet cats and dogs in DC?

Let's try to deal with reality.

In Washington D.C., the total number of crimes against persons was 22,320 in 2024, with the majority of those crimes (21,437) made up of assault offenses, according to the FBI report.
Sex offenses (655) were the second most common crime against persons in the district, followed by homicide offenses (179), and then kidnapping offenses (49).
The MPD's own preliminary data also showed that a number of these crimes decreased in 2024 compared to 2023 - with a 32 percent decrease in homicide crimes and a 25 percent decrease in sex abuse. The total violent crime in the capital also decreased by 35 percent, according to the figures. The MPD's provisional Year to Date figures for 2025 also showed violent crime down by 26% compared to 2024...
The FBI data, also showed there were 49,033 offenses in the district in 2024 that fell under crimes against property - with vandalism (15,200) and theft (18,942) the largest contributors. This was a fall from 2023 when there were 56,798 such offenses recorded.
