What do any of you fellow Cobra Kai fans think? I think it would be pretty cool as I always wanted to learn how to do karate myself. :)

Did you want to learn TV karate or hai karate?

Much better to learn Boxing than Karate

With my back I would not last 5 min lol

There are tons of martial arts dojos every where and a number of them are Cobra Kai. I think Victorville has one.

The show amuses me because it exists in its own silly world of internal logic where old dudes in their 60s and 70s are able to take on multiple stunt guys in their 20s because so practiced with karate, which, I mean, that is what Mr Miyagi was, that old man who could kick your ass (via stunt double).

I think the films and show have made it pretty clear why Cobra Kai the school / style sucks, that they are bullies and sore losers and start fights that don’t need to happen and they are graceless in defeat and turn on each other quickly… basically the opposite of mainstream karate teachings of discipline and self-defense.

Although I did appreciate the appeal of Johnny’s initial goals for the rebirth of Cobra Kai just being all 80s badass bravado (if just because that is his personality and his general inability to accept or understand the modern world or its woke lingo and customs in any way). But then we get back inevitably to the cheating and the bullying and needless provocation. Like… a dojo like this could not exist the police would be arresting the sensei repeatedly and putting the kids into juvie… and oh yeah I suppose this does happen in the show… mild vague spoilers… but I mean like the dojo would have also just been shut down by the city.
