Should the homeless be euthanized?

I noticed the two people on the panel with Brian didn't really react. Maybe they were stunned. But as a human being you'd think one of them would have objected to the suggestion that people be murdered for being mentally ill.

What about allowing people to murder themselves legally if mentally ill?

The troubled 29-year-old helped to die by Dutch doctors

"I'm 29 years old and I've chosen to be voluntarily euthanised. I've chosen this because I have a lot of mental health issues. I suffer unbearably and hopelessly. Every breath I take is torture…"
A team from the Dutch TV network, RTL Nieuws spent two weeks recording Aurelia as she journeyed towards her date with death - 2pm on Friday, 26 January. On a whiteboard in her home, she crossed off the days with a heavy black marker pen.
During those last weeks, she spent her time with loved ones, doing craftwork and riding her bike in Deventer, the city she adored. She also visited the crematorium - the place she had chosen for her own funeral service.

And letting them slowly die on the streets because we lack the conviction to force them to seek help is any better?
You can't force anyone to seek help. You can force them into programs. You can get them clean, sober, give them a job, a home, new car and a puppy. The minute your back is turned they will be laying in the gutter, REALLY happy.

People need to understand that like, for most of the time in America, we had State Mental Hospitals where people like the savage that killed the innocent Ukrainian refugee would be. He would be in the violent wing.
Big Pharma bribed the government and said they had magic pills to control them and State Mental Hospitals were no longer necessary, how did that work out in this situation? :dunno:

There are NO programs that help. What there are is levels of bureaucracy with helpful sounding names that do nothing but pay salaries.

I have seen hundreds if not thousands of programs to help the mentally ill and drug addicted. None actually help. There is nothing that will or even can help.
So you're for forced euthanasia? If not, what are you recommending?

Baker Act.

You can adjudicate them and force them into a program where they can't get out until a judge says they can get out.

What we call rehab and treatment now is optional and done half heartedly.

People are asking for a "solution", this is one that might work.

These people are already broken, but they need to be broken again before they can be fixed.

Put the drug addicted mentally ill in a relatively safe place where they will be confined and not hurt anyone. Give them all the drugs they want. It won't take long. They will die happy.

The Hotel California approach.

"you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave"

Plenty of addicts are forced into programs where they can't get out. It's called prison. They go right back to drugs as soon as they can. Your solution works. Just not for long. Yes, there are people who are able to get cleaned up. Not the ones sleeping in their own vomit.

Prison isn't the type of treatment I am talking about, and prison lets you out when your sentence is done.

People that can't clean up or are mentally too far gone go to another facility where they can be kept in comfort and away from drugs and away from people they can harm.

This isn't an easy fix, but it's better than what we do now, which is throw money away on government workers and NGOs to keep them barely alive and threats to others.

They can't be kept in comfort away from drugs. The yearning will always be there. You can keep them away from drugs and people they can harm. Just so you know that it's forever. Just give them drugs, let them be happy in their last few days.

Call that option C.

There are programs to help them, but no one uses any mechanism to force them to take the help.

We throw tons of money at the homeless issue, most of which goes to fund government employees to run funded NGO programs.

Those people don't want to "fix" the issue, they want to keep it running.
The homeless-industrial complex.

So just kill them outright?

You gonna go with that?

I’m not surprised

I've shown my position. Forced adjudicated treatment.

What I am saying is what is the difference between killing them slowly by letting them stay in the gutter with just enough help to keep them alive vs. euthanizing them?

Both actions lead to death, the difference is the slow method leads to some of them killing or hurting innocent people as well.

How MAGA

Where did I say that?

We are already killing them, just slowly so you lefties get jobs out of it and feel better about it.

I said forced adjudicated treatment.

Brian Kilmeade apologizes for remark about homeless people

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade issued an apology on Sunday over a remark he made on the air earlier in the week about homeless people and crime.

Kilmeade made the comment during a discussion on Wednesday’s edition of “Fox & Friends” about the murder of 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska, a case that has become a flash point for Republicans’ and President Trump’s efforts to crack down on crime.

After Fox host Lawrence Jones said of the homeless population “a lot of them don’t want to take the programs or get the help that is necessary, you can’t give them a choice. Either you take the resources that we’re going to give you, or you’re going to be locked up in jail.”

“Or involuntary lethal injection,” Kilmeade responded. “Just kill them.”

On Sunday, Kilmeade apologized on air for the remark.

Seems a little extreme to suggest killing the homeless. Out of character even for a Fox host. Lucky for him he didn't mention any of the hateful things Kirk said during his time as a divisive provocateur or he might have been fired. He only said mentally ill people should be murdered.......so no problem if you work for the Murdoch's.
Pretty interesting to see how many here have responded to your direct question with something like, "uh, well, what about, uh, well..."

There was a time that such a thing would have shocked me to see. Maybe ten years ago or so.

And that treatment would be?
