The popular vote is a Dem attack on democracy, period! A meaningless Dem propaganda scheme Dems use to question the legitimacy of a Republican president. A claim that just because Dems rushed for the most yards, even though they got crushed 40 to 7 on points that they really won the football game.

Since a popular vote campaign never took place, no popular vote campaign ads, promises, stops, nada nobody knows who might have won a popular vote election had one been held. The same reason which team rushed for the most yards is meaningless, it's points scored that decides the contest.

Instead of getting rid of it I would like to see all states move away from the winner take all and do like Maine and Nebraska.

Doing this encourages more voting in those states that are not "swing states".

If they had done this in 2020 Trump would have gotten 5 EC votes out of Illinois and 12 out of Cali. Biden would have gotten 13 out of Texas and 13 out of Florida.

In states like AZ Trump would have gotten 5 EC votes and 8 from Georgia.

Interesting… what part of the country do you live in? If it’s anywhere other than the East Cosst, West Coast or a Najor Metropolitan Area the loss of the Electoral College would mean no national candidate ever has to campaign for your vote ever again, because it won’t matter.
