I wish he would but of course he won't. There isn't any evidence citing he has caused all the strife. His comments were the tip of the iceberg. What he should do, is change his rhetoric from watch out for the men and women in blue, to realize if you and your actions stay within the law, they will be your friends and possibly save your life. He should say to the media he hopes his mulatto ( or as he likes to opine, bi-racial ) son will become a police officer and be one of their highest and best. That would show support for the peacekeepers, not fear of them. ( But he may not secretly want a reduction in crime )

There is no mechanism for "recall" in NY. Unless he's impeached or resigns, he'll be Mayor till 2017 at least.

No, but they should not be allowed to put partisan platforms or beliefs before the Constitution.
You cannot discriminate on the basis of creed. But neither can public officials keep putting their own creed above others.

That is what is wrong, Jeremiah, not upholding Constitutional equality and protections
but abusing govt to impose political agenda and beliefs.

If a Christian does it, a Muslim, a Communist or Atheist does it, it is wrong and unconstitutional.

Anyone can run for office, but it's how you USE that office and what laws you pass or enforce
that determine if you are acting unlawfully or not.

If you are Communist, but you can respect the Constitutional principles and rights of others,
and you act Constitutionally, there is no problem with that.

If you are Christian, Democrat Republican or even a Constitutionalist
and you impose your own beliefs against the will of others instead of respecting and protecting
their beliefs equally, that is unconstitutional REGARDLESS what label you are.

The law calls for equal protection of the laws without discriminating class, creed, etc.

So the same Constitutional laws we want enforced
would bar us from barring someone just based on Communist beliefs or affiliations.

If that Communist enacts or enforces unconstitutional laws,
I would hold that person responsible plus whoever voted for that person to repair the damages and pay the debts it costs.

This is why I suggest we start organizing govt by party, so people can govern themselves
by their own policies and beliefs and leaders of choice, and not impose on any other people or groups!

If he can work out a good faith meeting of the minds with police,
if they agree he should stay, he should stay.

If to unite the police and people a DIFFERENT mayor is needed,
I entrust and pray for them to come to that decision in unity for the best interests and safety of all concerned.

I pray for unity in Christ or conscience, resolution of all conflicts and removal of all barriers,
and unified solutions to bring out the best leadership and spirit of peace and justice for all.
