Honor what about them? The tribal warfare, the slavery, the savage way they sacrificed people. Is that what you celebrate? Or is it some kumbaya living with nature shit you made up in your head?
Wow, they sound like white people.

All Progressives need to give up their wealth in the Western World. You know, living a comfortable life as you type on these forums. There is no skin in the game. Michael Moore would die a day after reality hits us with your agendas and views.

Why don't you jump into a lake during January.

Should Indigenous Peoples Day f/k/a Columbus Day be a school holiday? Here's my take. If any teachers or students don't want to celebrate the second Monday in October as Columbus Day that's their privilege. Such teachers and students should spend the day, in classes (or at a Native Americans' museum).

They should spend the day as follows:
  1. An hour or two learning about the local tribes;
  2. An hour or two learning about inter-tribal conflict;
  3. An hour learning about the effects of smallpox, typhoid and diphtheria on the tribes;
  4. An hour learning about warfare and treaty breaking by Europeans; and
  5. An hour learning about tribes and conflicts in other areas.
It should not be a holiday because there is nothing to celebrate. OTOH Columbus Day can be a celebration; it's why we are here. And to our Canadian friends, Happy Thanksgiving!
I think all holidays and recognized days should be canceled, because its going to offend someone..somewhere. so just cancel all of them!

You get weekends off.....and maybe your birthday..thats it!
