Deport all, except those able to find a US sponsor who takes financial responsibility for them or those signed up for conscripted service... 'wall' building for the next 4 years, full time labor with a stipend and logging provided for them and their children.

My great great grandparents were subject to similarly stringent requirements coming from Scandinavia.... and they proceeded legally prior to and upon arriving on US soil.

That being said, there is a mess that needs to be cleaned up because of the lack of enforcement of immigration laws for many years.

Our laws are very inconsistent. People who are here illegally should not have access to public schools for example.

Because public schools are not equipped to act as ICE agents. They have enough to do as it is. Illegal immigrants should not be in the country, but as long as they are, school-aged kids are better off being educated than pushing even more of them into street gangs that make cities more violent and unsafe. And it is not unreasonable to consider that some of these kids really are quite young and whatever comes of the adjudication of their immigration cases, it is unnecessary to crap on them out of spite.
