You seem to think that non lethal force is going to work, Seth. What do you base that on?
The question isn’t whether throwing rocks is a crime—it is. The question is what response enforces the law while keeping control of the situation. Because the moment ICE starts acting like a hammer, everything starts to look like a nail—and the cartels count on that escalation to radicalize locals and delegitimize federal presence.

Lethal force escalating chaos:
  • Salt Lake City, 2015 – A teen holding a metal pipe was shot multiple times by officers. Crowd unrest followed immediately, damaging trust for years.
  • US-Mexico Border, 2010 – U.S. border agents killed 15-year-old Sergio Hernández Güereca by shooting across the border. No prosecution, but the international backlash was severe.
  • George Floyd Protests, 2020 – Numerous incidents where police escalated with ‘less-lethal’ munitions led to mass panic, injuries, and widening protests.

Non-lethal force restoring order:
  • Standing Rock, 2016 – Officers faced organized, often hostile resistance. Rather than escalate, they deployed water cannons, teargas, and held the line. No live fire. The situation remained tense, but never spiraled into a national flashpoint.
  • Ferguson, MO (late-stage response, 2014) – After initial militarized tactics failed, late deployment of de-escalation and community liaisons helped stabilize the city and reduce tension.
  • Portland Protests, 2020 – DHS presence initially used aggressive force and unmarked vans. Later, a shift to coordinated arrests and crowd management reduced nightly violence.

Discipline isn't weakness—it’s strategy. ICE should neutralize cartel influence the way a scalpel works—not a grenade. You don’t outgun chaos. You outlast it.

If they brok the law...yep. arrest and charge. Shoot? Nope. When are you going to read the question in the title?
"If" they broke the law? THEY'RE THROWING ROCKS, PIECES OF CONCRETE AND LARGE FIREWORKS AT LAW ENFORCEMENT! What are you talking about "if" they broke the law?
You cheered the execution of Ashli Babbitt for breaking a window but you don't want any liberal rioters harmed even when they are literally trying to kill people!

I was outraged that ICE did not shoot protesters throwing rocks at their vehicles at close range as seen in the video.
Obviously a case of "self-defense".
I'm also outraged that the vehicles that taxpayers paid for are being severely damaged.

Trump wants them arrested. Fine. But throwing rocks or shooting fireworks should not be tolerated. We know that many protesters are armed and love to ambush ICE agents.
I don't think you shoot people throwing rocks. I do think such people should be arrested, charged with malicious vandalism and endangering law enforcement personnel, should be prosecuted and spend a reasonable time in jail.

With all due respect, Seth? You're using Portland as an example of how to deal with violent protests? Have you not been watching the news? The left have been rioting there for months!

Yes, Portland was a mess—but that’s the point. The worst violence came after federal agents escalated with unmarked arrests and aggressive force. Locals who weren’t even involved got radicalized. But once Feds coordinated with local PD and prioritized restraint, nightly violence dropped. Escalation fed the chaos; de-escalation starved it. That’s not softness—it’s strategy. You win by isolating threats, not by making more enemies.

Suddenly, your partner takes one to the head...... murderd by some clown throwing rocks.

What is the correct response, you're probably next?

Yep, if there is no other option. Riots are fluid situations.

Sure.

You should try it once in a while. I know it will hurt since you haven’t thought in years...
So now you HAVE choices in a riot? I thought you didn't? I thought that was why you thought it was OK for someone to shoot an unarmed female protester, Candy! But NOW riots are "fluid" so there's no reason for deadly force? Like I said...did you think that through?

Black Bloc / ANTIFA / Anti ICE types are now funded and geared up with Level III A body armor rigs , tactical gear , ballistic Shields & helmets & Riot gear and firearms , high end Controlled pyrotechnics …
Yep, so who is buying all that fancy gear? Who is funding the potential deaths of government agents?
