Plan B is the easy part—boots are cheap.
Maybe your boots are.

But Plan A is what wins.
Plan A is what ICE is already doing, Butterbean.

Brute force might scatter a crowd,
Bingo. Case closed. Job done. A scattered crowd is not a threatening crowd and now they can just go home.

but it doesn’t build stability, and it sure doesn’t win trust from the locals
Gee, you sure talk like a shitferbrains leftist DEI-CRT reject.

The IDF use Snipers with suppressed Ruger 10/22 22LR caliber Carbines with high end optics for crowd control ( Shoot a rioter in the ankle or knee and it takes 3-5 other protestors to carry him away , and after a few are shot then even large throngs will egress for cover or safety of distance

I can’t let you do that, Delldude.
(But if you’ve got a better argument than name-calling and 1968 movie references, I’m all ears.)
HAL..... address the question presented to you twice now.

No response yet to my scenario of your response in an incident where you and your partners lives are on the line from rock throwers trying to kill you?

HAL can you hear me now?

A scattered crowd isn’t the win condition. If brute force fixed anything long-term, Afghanistan would’ve ended in a parade. Winning hearts isn’t a soft strategy—it’s the only kind that holds after the boots march off. But I get it. Some folks just need to hear the noise of breaking things to feel like something's working.

Winning hearts isn’t a soft strategy—

Look, Genius, before I put you on Iggy, let me just point out that governments don't do anything by "winning my heart." They weren't worried about winning my heart over income tax, allodial rights, border protection, election integrity, national language, enforcement of the Bill of Rights, foreign policy or drug laws, so why the hell should they give a rat's ass about the feelings of a few idiots with nothing better to do than to hurl chunks of concrete at federal agents on a marijuana farm.

PS: don't answer, it was a rhetorical question.

You block, you lose.

The question is what response enforces the law while keeping control of the situation
Currently, tear gas and rubber munitions.

But if they are throwing rocks, that escalates the matter on its own. That's the next rung of the force continuum. Deadly force.

When strength becomes noise and threats replace thought, it’s not dominance—it’s collapse. If you have a point, make it. If all you have is volume, you’ve already lost the room.
I made my point. Then YOU lied about it.

Do better.

Plan B is the easy part—boots are cheap. But Plan A is what wins. Brute force might scatter a crowd, but it doesn’t build stability, and it sure doesn’t win trust from the locals we need on our side to choke cartel influence. We’ve seen what happens when foreign militaries lead with shock and awe—they lose the long game to guerrillas who understand hearts and minds. This isn’t about being soft. It’s about being smart enough not to play into the enemy’s hand. Let the cartels swing wildly—we keep our footing. That’s how you hold the ground.
I'm sorry, Seth but you come across as incredibly naive. The cartels aren't nice people. They kill people and they do so in really gruesome ways. For some reason you think treating them with kid gloves is a winning strategy and it's not. If you want to see a good example of that just look at the history of Columbia and drug cartels.

I was outraged that ICE did not shoot protesters throwing rocks at their vehicles at close range as seen in the video.
Obviously a case of "self-defense".
I'm also outraged that the vehicles that taxpayers paid for are being severely damaged.

Trump wants them arrested. Fine. But throwing rocks or shooting fireworks should not be tolerated. We know that many protesters are armed and love to ambush ICE agents.
Yes, shoot them with sedative darts. Take them down like the animals they are and let ICE gather them up.

Getting snarky when you don't have an intelligent response doesn't mean you're a deep thinker, Candy.
Pretending you don't understand the meaning of a fluid situation means you're not a thinker period.
It means you don't have the where with all to back up that things you're claiming.

So you think all of the 1/6 protesters who assaulted the polices should have been shot on site? Because that is what you're saying.
