No rational society imposes the death penalty unless the perpetrator takes a life, directly or indirectly.

We Christians believe that there are very few sins that are not forgivable by God, and these do not include sins of the flesh.

While it would be criminally foolhardy to place such a clergyman in a position where he is exposed to children again, there are other forms of ministry where he might be useful.

The primary institution for punishment in our culture is the State. Religious institutions have their own rules, objectives, and take their own decisions. If you don't like them, go someplace else.
