Trump pardons 15, including convicted Blackwater guards
Blackwater guards were convicted in a 2007 massacre in Baghdad that left more than a dozen Iraqi civilians dead.
"President Donald Trump has granted a full pardon to 15 people, including four former government contractors convicted in a 2007 massacre in Baghdad that left more than a dozen Iraqi civilians dead -- They were a part of an armoured convoy of vehicles escorting US embassy officials that opened fire at a crowd of unarmed Iraqi civilians. The incident came to be known as the Nisour Square massacre and marked one of the lowest points of the US-led invasion of Iraq. At least two of the 14 killed at the time were children."
Now I totally understand the need to pardon these men because let's be honest -- killing Iraqis don't really count as killing real people -- you will always be given a pass if you killed "the others" -- even when you pay lip service and claim to be against the Iraq invasion and Middle East intervention in general....but should these folks have received pardons before Julian Assange or Edward Snowden??
Two border patrol agents even received pardons before Assange -- and these guys actually shot a guy, lied about it, tried to cover it up and got caught -- but again, when shit like this happens to "the others" -- it is always easier to forgive it -- but even a corrupt politician like Steve Stockman, guilty on 23 counts of corruption -- he gets a pardon before Assange?? -- even when you pay lip service and claim to be in favor of "draining the swamp" -- you pardon that guy first??
And why this sudden pardoning spree when you are getting ready to serve a second term anyway?? Or are these pardons just Trump's way of desensitizing everyone to them; in preparation for him pardoning his family, his personal attorneys and associates before pardoning himself??
