Should an ideological purity test be applied to federal employees?

He is using rhetoric involving the fictitious "deep state" to justify purging employees with whom has he philosophical differences.

Civil service employees shouldn't be dissenting from doing their jobs. They aren't policy makers. And if they do object to doing their jobs, they should be fired.

Just look at the actions of the EPA when Trump was President. They actively ignored stated and written policy in favor of their own beliefs.

That is a crime in My opinion.
It went way beyond that. Obama hires were pretty much Democrat socialists, in just about every part of the bureaucracy, they slow walked anything Trump tried to get done..... purposely.

I remember Him complaining about it time and time again.

I'm okay with that in principle. It's not what the thread is about.

See post #35.
An opinion piece. So the **** what?

You should hear the shit that Kamala wants to do. Oh wait, she doesn't tell us what horrors await us for her administration.

Look, you trot out boogie men all the time and they always, ALWAYS turn out to be absolute bullshit. This will be one of those times.

If you fear this, then leave.

McCarthy was a power hungry drunk who disgraced himself and the office he held.

Joseph McCarthy was a legislator, not an executive. He didn't have the power to fire executive branch employees.

If I rremember correctly, Obama had a multi-page application form to be part of his team and you had to sign loyalty oaths.

That is exactly what the thread asked us to give an opinion on.
Should a federal employee be faced with the risk of termination for the views he/she holds on something like the legally protected right (Obergefell) to same sex marriage?

Aside from the poorly structured sentence, I have answered this question.

No one should be held to account for a belief.

**It cannot be stated with any more clarity than that.

Their beliefs do not give them license to undermine the policy of the elected leadership.
