In 1954, when Eisenhower carried out Operation Wetback, he transported huge numbers of illegal aliens to Vera Cruz, Mexico, and areas south of there. As an 8 year old kid in Villahermosa, Tabasco, I watched the women and children come ashore in small boats. Men waded ashore in waist high water.

There was lots of "opposition", especially from the Mexican government. Eisenhower paid no attention to them at all. Ho hum.

I have 2 primary care physicians. One is from El Salvador. The other from India. Neither had an immigration process too complicated.

Yes.

Divided into groups with each group assigned a priority.

Deportations to be executed one group at a time in descending order of priority.

Kinda-sorta like the way it seems to be unfolding now.

Many Democrats have been complaining that Trump and ICE have been arresting & deporting ALL illegal aliens who they find, rather than only those having committed heinous crimes.

Trump, Homan, & Noem did say they were going to go after those illegals who had committed serious crimes first & foremost. Sure. But this does not mean that in many cases nonviolent illegals should be ignored.

I saw a YouTube video where ICE intelligence sent ICE officers to an apartment to get 2 high level gang members. They found those 2 along with 10 other illegal aliens who were not gang members & had no records of crimes other than EWI (Entry Without Inspection - ie. US Code 8, Section 1325).

So as long as those 10 were found also, do Democrats think they should be ignored, just because they are guilty or suspected of EWI, without other crimes ?

That. Is ridiculous. ICE may go on raids specifically targeting gang members and those illegal aliens with multiple crime records, but when EWI-only illegals happen to be present, and can be arrested also, there is no reason to ignore them. ALL illegal aliens who ICE finds should be arrested, whether targeted or not. Anything less would be dereliction of duty.

every illegal alien must be deported. It does not matter whether they have not committed any other crime then entering the USA illegally or how long they have lived in the USA illegally. all illegal aliens must go. and they are not undocumented immigrants.

That might be feasible once the border is secure and the overwhelming majority of criminal aliens and especially criminal aliens who committed further crimes after criminally crossing the border are sent back.

Right now, we can't even think about allowing anyone caught by Homan's Hounddogs to stay. His zero tolerance policy for illegal aliens is what has slowed the flow across the border to a trickle. We have to keep that momentum or the floodgates will open again.

The reason they haven't is the lax enforcement. All the Democrats want is amnesty when people are still streaming in, and all the GOP wants is a secure border and to never be accused to their base of supporting amnesty.

If the border is ever at the point that it is so well-enforced that farmers need more laborers, and wealthy congressfolk have to make up their own beds, that will be the time Congress will raise limits on work visas and and legal immigration, and talk about allowing some few of the criminal entrants to pay a fine, do community service and stay while they start the legal immigration procedings.

Why isn't the top of the ladder following the Will of the People they so often claim to heed?

Why does the slimmest minority get to kill every immigration reform bill for the past quarter of a century no matter which party initiated it?
