Shooting in what the press is calling a "Posh" london neighborhood..........which means that gun violence in Britain is no longer contained to the poor sections...

Muswell Hill in LOCKDOWN as upmarket London suburb hit by shooting

More detail at this link.....

Muswell Hill 'on lockdown' after shooting in posh London suburb

Author Sarra Manning wrote on Twitter: “So there was a shooting last night. Whole swathes of Muswell Hill cordoned off.”

Another added: “Muswell Hill is on lockdown because of a shooting.”

Vic Langer added: “Bizarre morning – as I left my flat this morning I realised I had been sleeping in a police cordon. Looked pretty serious.”

Simon Lipson posted on Facebook: “Comforting to know the shooting in leafy, villagey, peaceful Muswell Hill last night.

“Took place more than 5 minutes’ walk from my house.”

The man is now in a serious but stable condition and is not thought to have suffered life-threatening injuries.

Residents in the posh neighbourhood – where the average house price is £1.3 million – told of their shock at the shooting.

number of gun murders in the UK- 48.

Number of gun murders in the US 11,000.

Nope, they are still doing it right, and we are still doing it wrong.

No joe, they simply don't have the same violent democrats that we have...but they are importing violent criminals.....their gun crime is up 10% in their major cities...their criminals are shooting at police more......their gun control is no more successful than our gun control is..their criminals are using guns when they want to...and nothing they are doing is stopping it.

Perhaps if you'd stop rewarding criminals....

it's only 3.5 per 100000
In the UK it's not much lower

and for both countries the respective murder rates are virtually the same as they were in 1950 that's even after the draconian gun laws of the UK were passed in the 60's

so it seems we in the US will always have a higher murder rate than the UK

If you don't like it feel free to move your worthless ass to England

Dick Tiny would cut four legs off a frog, yell "Jump" and assume the frog is deaf.

Some day, you need someone to explain "Occam's Razor" to you.

The simplest solution is usually the right one.

Okay, let's look at that.

The US incarcerates 2 million of its citizens.

The United Kingdom incarcerates 80,000.

so by your logic, if punishing criminals deterred crime, we'd have a LOWER crime than the UK, not a much higher one.

No, Dick Tiny will pop back in here and claim that there are more assaults or rapes in the UK, ignoring evidence that the UK Home Office defines these things differently than the FBI does.

The Gun Nut lives on things you can't really define...

you mean like keeping violent criminals in jail

more than half of all homicide defendants have more than one felony conviction

you want to cut the murder rate in half then keep those fucking animals in a cage where they belong

Once again you cherry pick and give incomplete data

Incarceration rate has nothing to do with the length of sentence and actual time served.

Most violent offenders serve less than 4 years
almost 70% of all homicide defendants have at least one felony conviction
more than half have at least 2 felony convictions

THAT is the problem not guns in the hands of law abiding people

Guy, we already lock up 2 million people. we don't have the room or resources to lock up more.
Then punish them instead of making it easy for them.

Guy we have to concentrate on VIOLENT criminals and come up with alternate sentencing for nonviolent criminals

THAT is the simple solution

Yes..yet you fail to see it every time.

Gun control in Britain doesn't lower their gun crime rate.....in fact it is going up, not down. British culture had always kept their gun crime low...long before the gun confiscation....in fact, as you know, our non gun murder rate is higher than their total murder rate....so their murder rate has nothing to do with guns. Their gun confiscation did not lower their gun crime rate after it was enacted, showing that they banned law abiding people from owning guns....and got nothing in return for doing it.

And now.....their gun crime is going up....why? because they have imported people from 3rd world countries who do not share the values of normal British citizens...and these foreign immigrants are the ones increasing the gun crime rate....and none of their gun laws is stopping it.

Gun crime nationally is up 4% in Britain...and up 10% in their major cities.....and they are finding more illegal guns and having more shooting incidents aimed at police......but ignore it....you are an ignorant person...so the truth won't effect you....

Asswipe....a repeat, violent gun offender in major cities in the U.S., in particular Chicago serves less than 2 years...and they are sent to Boot Camps, not prison.......that is why we have gun murder in our cities....locking up gun criminals is how you lower gun crime...not by taking guns away from people who don't use them for crime....

An idiot like you thinks that taking the car away from someone who doesn't drive drunk effects the drunk driving rate....that is how fucking stupid you are...

He probably thinks anyone with a penis is responsible for all rapes too
We might as well neuter all men to end rape

Except by your own figures, half of murderers didn't have a felony conviction... So much for being "Law abiding".

The reality is, most murders are domestic arguments that got out of control. A gun just makes it a lot easier for those arguments to go out of control.

Which is why we have so many homicides and countries that don't let their citizens own guns (because they don't need them, really) have so few.
