My best friend from H.S. was born a mega-millionaire. He never graduated from High School, he destroyed a multitude of his fathers cars, his only accomplishment was learning to play guitar at the level of a punk rocker. He did have a great sex life by pursuing working-class girls who were enamoured by his wealth.

At 50 years old, he cannot write a complete sentence. He has been a failure at several businesses that he started. He is still playing punk rock. He sits at his pool in Florida drinking liquor from the time he wakes up until he goes to sleep (which is whenever). His wife is hooked on painkillers.

The one thing he has is lots of stuff. All he can talk about is his 'stuff' and keep reminding everybody that he has more 'stuff' than they do.

Though people are individuals and some will transcend the materialism, the vast majority will, if given the chance, live a life of absolutely no accomplishments.

I'm totally blown away, though shouldn't be. One hypothetical, trumped by another, rendered as truth. Truly you believe the followers of yourselves are fuktards, incapable of dealing with reality. Much better to give them an extreme example, deal with as if true, then slam our imaginary enemy.

You're right she shouldn't, except out of charity. But that then says that the lions share of the wealth should go to those who do the WORK, which would be the WORKING CLASS.

-- she went out twice as long collecting candy and went to three times as many houses = more candy

-- he went out for less time and to less houses = less candy

She chose to use the opportunity and her resources differently than he did, which resulted in more candy.

Both kids worked hard; one chose to work differently (going out longer). Why should she have to give her brother part of her 'lion's wealth' of candy? Because she worked differently than he did?

Define 'work the most'. You mean wealthy folks like The Donald works less than Bob bricklayer? Don't know about that but I do know that The Donald works differently than Bob the bricklayer, and reaps the reward of more money because of it. He's already footing the tax bill more so than almost everyone else and . . . now he is going to pay more. (Actually, I think we are all going to be paying more). Again, I go back to the Halloween candy and think . . . just because someone worked differently why should they have to pay for someone who didn't. Hmmmm . . .

In fact it's just the opposite. The only 'work' that most wealthy people do is in conniving on how to steal as much money as they possibly can!

Well, if you mean Wall Street I can't argue with that. If you mean regular wealthy folks . . . I'd like to see a link for that information.

Capitalists don't necessarily believe that those who work the most get wealthy. Those who create the most wealth get wealthy. The more value you create using your time, energy, brain power, etc. rewards you with a piece of that wealth. In a capitalist system, anyone is capable of working really hard, building a better mousetrap, contributing to society in a meaningful way, seeing a need and filling it, in short, supplying a demand. The greater the demand, the greater the value of what supplies it. Do that enough, spend your resources wisely, and follow the rules - you get wealthy. Just stay where you're comfortable, repeatedly make poor decisions, break the rules - you wind up broke, or worse.

It is a fact that in this society everyone is practically guaranteed a middle class lifestyle if they finished high school, didn't develop a drug or alcohol problem, didn't have a child out of wedlock, didn't get a criminal record, and work full time. Beyond that is up to one's imagination and willingness to work.

Capitalism is natural, virtuous, and dignifying. Socialism is manipulative, enslaving, degrading, and just downright wrong.

What you've just stated is the goals and ideals of the liberal ideology.

It would be great if those who create the wealth (that would be the workers), were the ones that got wealthy. The wealthy are generally people who are positioned to grab all the wealth because they are not spending their time and energy creating wealth.

I spent over 20 years working for 3 different corporations...and from EXPERIENCE i can say that the upper eschelon vp's for the company spent 90% of their time on the golf course during working hours and the mid level executives/managers/supervisors along with their workers are the ones who actually created the wealth....developed the product at the right price, in the right style, with the right material at the right cost, delivering at the right time....and THESE THINGS are what makes a business profitable...."in the money"!

The ONLY credit the upper eschelon can get in making the corporation money, was that they hired the right people who were experienced in developing product that sells and who were also able to hire the right workers to make it, which created the corporation's wealth. All else, falls in to place, if the people working do the things i mentioned above...

I will say that what is needed to create wealth is money....

and the ceo's are not giving their money to create and produce what the company is selling,

it is the stock holder that has risked their money so that the workers can create their wealth....

the ceo may work with the cfo to work out some deal on the dollar exchange in a foreign country we were manufacturing in or on some tax credit, or the vp of manufacturing might occaisionally find a factory that is slow that is willing to produce the product at a better price than what we anticipated...

But when it was all said and done, if what you produced isn't the right product, at the right time, at the right price, there would be NO occaisional deals for the upper eschelon to make.....

In all these words, i am saying i agree with you....the workers create the wealth....because they create what is sold...which is ''the business''.
