I was at a Wegmans supermarket on my iPhone in cafe section and got very busy email and calls for a few hours. I composed and sent a reply email to 5 people and noticed a mysterious 6th recipient a long string of letters @shadowoutlook.com

I had my vpn off for some reason

Was a serious WTF moment

I have the dual notification on. I turned VON on and changed the password

That was a hack attempt, correct?

Most likely a phishing expedition instead of a dedicated hacking attempt.

The 'accidental' emails we get are usually information on some delivery they were unable to deliver and please call this number. . . .

AI/GAN, automation can be hell when they can call thousands of random numbers at little or no cost or effort to themselves hoping somebody will bite on whatever scam they're trying to sell.
