Every human being had a man and a woman for biological parents. Actual parents raising children can be a man and a woman ( most common ) or a man and another man or a woman and another woman ( increasingly more and more common ). Oddly enough I believe the hatred towards homosexuals is actually causing more and more people to reveal their true nature and boldly admit they are homosexual. Scientists say the ideal world population for this planet is 1.5 to 2 billion. Had this world been different and sexual orientations ( other than heterosexuality ) were never maligned I think we'd be in much safer and peaceful territory as far as population goes. Stress is not good for human beings.

Your use of the term Preference is misleading; you make it sound like one's sexual orientation is a choice. It clearly is not a simple conscious choice.
