Senator Ron Wyden introduces S. 420, a bill to legalize marijuana

There is no form of abuse too severe for pot growers. There is no sentence too long. Drug addiction is the worst crisis we have ever faced. It requires drastic action.

What's the "addiction rate" on marijuana? It's less than pizza...
It's not about addiction, it's about the next logical step after weed gets mundane.

The "Gateway Drug" theory? Mostly nonsense. There might be a few who progress to harder drugs. But most don't.

The true "gateway drug" is alcohol. Why? Alcohol will reduce your inhibitions. We have all heard about (or been), the drunk that does stupid crap in public.

As far as cannabis? Never had my inhibitions lower while smoking. If I won't do it sober, you can't talk me into it while I'm stoned.

Get me drunk and suggest something stupid? I have a higher chance of doing it drunk while inhibitions are surpressed.

Just because almost every drug abuser started with weed...…..

Besides weed being a carcinogen that can be addictive like alcohol and heavy use causes mental illness, it is the perfect approach for governments wanting to keep the peons medicated and quite.

According to the Royal British Medical Society, if you smoke cigarettes only, you are 21 times more likely to get lung cancer than someone who doesn't.

If you smoke cannabis only, you have a 0.93 percent to 0.73 percent chance of getting lung cancer than someone who doesn't.

As far as marijuana being physically addictive? It isn't. Stay stoned for 2 weeks straight, then suddenly stop. All that will happen is you will no longer be stoned. There are no tremors, DT's or any nausea when you stop.

Stay drunk for 2 weeks straight and then suddenly stop? You might die from the DT's. Alcohol is physically addictive.

As someone who abused the booze hard as fuck in my college days, this is all too true. If I smoked weed, I was liable to engage in chill conversation before passing out (maybe I'd take a shower first. High showers are the best).

If I drank too much, I was liable to do damn near anything, or try anything. In fact, every single time I tried a new drug, I was already drunk at the time.

Anyone who thinks alcohol is fine and weed is not is either completely ignorant or insane. There's no other explanation.

Absolutely correct. There are very few things in this world that are as pleasurable as a warm shower while stoned on a good Sativa (Indica makes me too sleepy).

And, unlike alcohol, the effects on your balance are negligible while smoking marijuana, so showering stoned is much safer than showering drunk.

Alcohol is probably 100 times more intoxicating than weed.

Yes, I know why it's legal, but it really shouldn't be ...

I've tried a lot of drugs, and I still say booze is the most destructive overall, with a few exceptions when it comes to individual health (like a heroin junkie is more likely to kill themselves, but less likely to kill someone else than an alcoholic). I would definitely put it down as more harmful than cocaine or ecstasy.

The way alcohol causes people to behave is just so insanely bad ... nothing else really compares, IMO. Except maybe some more rare drugs like PCP, which I don't know anything about.

Weed is legal in Vegas, but gambling and weed don’t really go together.

If you’re gambling and drinking, you’re more likely to go to the window and get another $1000 in chips and say “What the fuck!”

But if you have a few hits of Gorilla Cookies, you might start thinking about how you’d rather not risk another 10 bucks.

Exactly. And, that is one of the reasons that booze is so cheap in the casinos, and if you are on a hot streak, they comp you drinks so that you stay more, make worse choices, and lose your ass.

BTW.....................Gorilla Cookies is one of my more favorite strains. Just ran across one called Gelato, and let me tell you, that is some excellent smoke. Brings a whole new meaning to having a bowl of Gelato.

...until you realize there are Dorito crumbs in the bathtub.

But you're more likely to drop $150 at a steak house...
