Does that include payroll taxes as well as income taxes?
Some day, when they go to retire, they will be drawing much less from social security retirement, and this tax break is for the employer as well, not having to pay SS and Medicare taxes for the employee.
Same with cutting taxes on overtime....
Most ignorant democrats will let them get away with it too. Those who've paid attention will recall Trump proposing it during his campaign though. LOL, Heels Up was a day late and a dollar short trying to keep up.The Dems are going to vote down Trump's bill and then try to convince people that not taxing tips is a gift from them.
LOL, First explosion. The vote was unanimous and it was a Trump proposal during the campaign, BTW. Try again. LMAO
The fact remains it was a Trump proposal and the democrats are trying to be on the right side of history for a change---hence your exploding head. LMAOActually,it was jointly sponsored by a Republican and a Democrat.
And the fact remains that a Democrat called the question
Not exactly.![]()
Senate unexpectedly passes the No Tax on Tips Act in a unanimous vote
Sen. Jacky Rosen, D-Nev., called up the bipartisan bill for immediate passage, and no senator objected. The measure now goes to the House.www.nbcnews.com
By unanimous vote, no less.
Miracles do happen.
I am tired of being forced to show sympathy for restaurant servers
I lived my whole life expected to give a 15 percent tip. About five years ago, servers started to guilt you into 20 percent.
In the last five years, the price of a restaurant meal has gone up 50 percent.
Five years ago I could order a burger and fries for $10 and would leave a $1.50 tip
Today, that burger and fries costs $15 and at 20 percent, I am expected to leave a $3.00 tip
Their tips have doubled in five years and now they want it to be tax free
Excellent. Everyone put your staff on 1 hour contracts, put the rest of the wage through as tips!!![]()

Trump’s tax and spending bill does not eliminate taxes on Social Security, overtime and tip income, but merely provides temporary tax deductions
Donald Trump failed to deliver on his promise to end taxes on Social Security benefits, overtime and tip income, and so now has turned to an alternative that has often worked for him in the past: lying about it.
Trump has been claiming that it fulfills campaign pledges that helped him return to the presidency, even though the 330-page measure only provides temporary help that only partially accomplishes what he promised.
And you're going to need that money!!!
And we could end up paying far more because of the massive import taxes Trump says will take effect next month. It’s about $750 in tax cuts and $2,000 in tariff increases.
White House aides did not respond to HuffPost queries about why Trump was lying about the new law and why he did not push to make those provisions that help middle-class Americans permanent, as he did the tax rate changes that disproportionately benefit the wealthiest.
But they must have 60 VotesEverything is temporary you dumb OX. They can write new laws tomorrow. Take your shoes off at the airport and SHUP about it loon.
I talk to a MAGA waiter. Inside I laugh at that dumb mother ******. Broke ass. The place is slow because the prices are too high. Do I want to spend $20 on a dinner or just go make dinner at home? Depends on how lazy I am but usually I make something at home.
I hate it that I feel guilty and tip the cashier when I go pick it up. But I don't care what the bill is, I usually only give them $1-$3 depending on how big the order is. Or if I order 3 lunches for me and 2 other people, I leave $3. Everyone gives an extra buck. But it is bullshit. Why am I tipping to pick up food and take it with me? Because I don't want them to spit in my food when I order it. They know me when I call.
The last dinner I got was two stuffed cabbages with mash potatoes and greens. $20.10. So I gave her $22. If the balls of meat inside the cabbage were big I might go back but they were tiny balls. 80% cabbage 20% meat. **** that. I remember when I was a kid my mom would make 100 of them and they were 80% meat 20% cabbage.
But they must have 60 Votes
My brother doesn't believe me but I told him I heard that eventually they will stop paying time and a half or double time forExcellent. Everyone put your staff on 1 hour contracts, put the rest of the wage through as tips!!
Funny that. You talking about tiny balls and greens. Calling for orders like 1985? Ordreing 3 lunches for you? With 2 others with you and a $1-$3 tip? Huh? And you a bigshot company man with time to hang around “talking to non-busy” MAGA waiters? Uh…
My brother doesn't believe me but I told him I heard that eventually they will stop paying time and a half or double time for
I go get people lunch. But they have to order where I'm going. And I round up on all of them. Usually my $13 meal is more like $9. AND, I get a punch every time I go to these places. Eventually I get a free one. I'm smart. And it's funny because I make around $90K and have no kids, no mortgage, very low taxes and as little as I spend, I'm not rich. So I feel sorry for you mother fuckers. Anyone making less than me.
But then I see my sister in law the teacher who's mid 50's and retired collecting a pension and great healthcare. Or my millionaire brother and one friend who invested wisely.
I talk to the *** when I'm waiting for my chicken swarma sandwiches. I assumed he was a lib but MAGA got to a lot of people who were formerly liberals. They feel abandoned by the left. Trump runs a great campaign I'll give him that. Then he pretends to serve them by temporarily giving them a tax break on tips, but meanwhile tax breaks on millionaires is forever.
You are either rich or stupid to support this.
We don't tip in the UK, you can if you want, but the default setting is no tips. The reason being is, everyone is paid a wage for working. I can count on one hand the number of times I've tipped in the last decade. My brother doesn't believe me but I told him I heard that eventually they will stop paying time and a half or double time for

You make a good point. Who pays taxes on tips? I certainly never did. Every year they gave me the form and every year I ripped it up.Tax on your measly tip into a plastic tip jar at a sandwich greasy spoon? Too much work for IRS to go after it you dumb OX.
Deduction Up to $25K is $100/day 250 workdays per waiter. Can't make it unlimited cause dirty D would cheat wage taxes somehow.
Restaurants, barbers, and baggage handlers for me. I don't use the latter as I am capable of handling my own. I think tip jars at every business is ridiculous. We don't tip in the UK, you can if you want, but the default setting is no tips. The reason being is, everyone is paid a wage for working.
