Weren't tariffs supposed to cost each American household an additional $2,700.00 annually? Now Republicans are trying to buy us off with just a fraction of what their bad policies are going to cost us every year.

Republican Sen. Josh Hawley introduced legislation Monday to provide tariff rebate checks of at least $600 per adult and child to American families, similar to the stimulus checks the government distributed during the Covid pandemic.

Hawley, R-Mo., submitted his legislation after having pledged to do so Friday after President Donald Trump told reporters he would be interested in sending a tariff-related rebate check to Americans.

“Like President Trump proposed, my legislation would allow hard-working Americans to benefit from the wealth that Trump’s tariffs are returning to this country,” Hawley said in a statement.

I told him, according to government data there are about 167,000 registered American tax payers in the USA, and WE THE PEOPLE need help NOW....not the last 6 months of his term.
I told him he needs to just cut us all a TAX FREE check for $1,000,000.00 EACH.
I also stated that 167 million dollars in tax refunds to the people is literally PENNIES next to what the government spends on corrupt beauracracy in ONE DAY. They won't miss it or hurt over it.
