Seething leftists launch baseless lawfare against Musk and Twitter.

"Cleaning house" 🙄

He's firing the engineers who made Twitter run smoothly, and made it a seamless experience, even for the disabled:

Yup the same engineers who helped Twitter suppress information unfavorable to the Democrats in the last election while exaggerating and promoting information unfavorable to a Republican.

The same engineers who programmed restricted Patriot access to Twitter numerous times when bad press was breaking for the Democrats but rarely ever suspended or restricted anybody on the left.

The same engineers who programmed algorithms to severely restrict voices on the right while not applying the same algorithms to those on the left.

Free speech and honest exchange of ideas, thoughts, information cannot happen in an environment like that.

There's a lot of us who think Trump's greatest mistake as President was not thoroughly cleaning house when he was sworn in as President. He took too much advice from professional operatives and pols and trusted far too many to be honorable. It looks like Musk won't be making that mistake.

Yup and because they know all that, they are responsible for all the damage Twitter has done and will likely keep doing if Musk allows them to stay.

You are just making shit up
You have no clue what those people do and what their responsibilities are

Very informative, about ad revenue.

1/ There is some pretty substantial context about Twitter's 2023 revenue and advertisers that I think partly help explains why Musk is really losing it...

And it involves upfront ad sales. Let me explain...
2/ Back Twitter (like a lot of digital companies) participates in an event called new fronts. At this event, they sell large chunks of ads for the following year.

Typically, Twitter sells like ~600-900M in ads at new fronts. That's guaranteed revenue for following year.
3/ This year, they didn't sell much of anything.

A coalition called Stop The Deal spent time educating and using media buyers and big advertisers at the event to ask Twitter some basic questions about potential Musk takeover before giving him a guaranteed income for 2023.
4/ Media buyers did ask those questions. Twitter had zero answers or assurances, the presentation imploded and ended shockingly early. Twitter from what I understand basically sold almost nothing and locked in extremely little 2023 revenue.
5/ This means that instead of heading into 2023 with 15-20% of 2023 already secured as they typically would have, Twitter heads into next year with almost none of that. All because of Musk's red pilled edgelord approach.
6/ @elonmusk has had months to address these concerns or even learn about them. But instead, he's insisted on antagonizing the very businesses and people that sustain Twitter.

Back in May, the groups and companies weren't calling for a boycott, they were asking basic questions.
7/ My point here is: It's actually worse than that I think a lot of people even appreciate all because Musk's conduct and commitments to roll back brand safety and community safeguards essentially obliterated Twitter's new front sales event that woulda secured 2023 revenue.

These engineers - as I already said - were part of Accessibility. For the slow people, that's the team who ensures that Twitter is easier to use for blind people, sight impaired, hearing impaired, physically impaired. It has nothing to do with your delusions about politics, whispered to you by Tucker while you're sleeping.

You really should learn to read.

Musk is GTG with ( Choice ) ( Legalized Drugs / Constitutional reasons ) ( Pathway / Amnesty ) ( Gay Marriage ) ( Sensible Firearm Restrictions ) ( Climate Change Mishegoss ) ... Not RW

Sadly for the idiots who thought they had a legal case under the WARN act, it turns out the richest man in the world has access to lawyers. The actual terminations take effect at the start of February, but people are locked out of Twitter's offices and computer network effective immediately.

Which is the only way to handle it when half your employees are mentally-impaired anarcho-communists.

Fuck you. He is a pig, but that is who you run with.

Blind people are Woke

They got no place on Twitter

Nope. Their termination was immediate. Engineers were tweeting about being suddenly locked out of their workstations.

They are still being paid and on the books till February 2023
They just aren’t allowed to work

Twitter had a choice

Transition to a new workforce and allow old employees to train their replacement

Fire them immediately to prevent any retaliation

Yep. They're all working from home. They will remain on the payroll for two months but they will not be allowed to work. They get full pay and benefits and are required to conduct themselves as Twitter employees, but they won't be working. They'll have two full months to goof off, look for a new job or whatever.

Are you assuming these Twitter employees are the only people on the planet with the knowhow and skills to do that work?

How stupid would it be to allow people who hate your guts and who want you to fail in every way to have two months capability to reprogram anything they want, sabotage the operation, do damage it could take months to fix?

These two bolded sentences contradict each other. But thanks for trying. You get a participation trophy.

Has a police office put on administrative leave been fired? He is still getting his benefits and paycheck. Is he still an employee or is he terminated?

Were all the people not allowed to work but still receiving their paycheck and benefits during COVID lockdown fired? Were they still employees or terminated?

I think you should keep the trophy for the most silly argument of the day.

They received their notice today and are not officially terminated until Feb 2 2023
But today is their last day at Twitter

Hello,

As shared earlier today, Twitter is conducting a workforce reduction to help improve the health of the company. These decisions are never easy and it is with regret that we write to inform you that your role at Twitter has been impacted.

Today is your last working day at the company, however, you will remain employed by Twitter and will receive compensation and benefits through your separation date of February 2, 2023.

During this time, you will be on a Non-Working Notice period and your access to Twitter systems will be deactivated. While you are not expected to work during the None-Working Notice period, you are still required to comply with all company policies, including the Employee Playbook and Code of Conduct.

Within a week, you will receive details of your severance offer, financial resources extending beyond your Non-Working Notice period. At that time you will also receive a Separation Agreement and Release of Claims and other offboarding...

So basically the lawsuit is already moot.
