There are serious concerns about how things will go when Japan’s Vegalta Sendai visits China’s Jiangsu Sainty for a soccer match. The home side is located in Nanjing, and given the history involved some are worried about how the locals will behave. Japanese players and fans have been given special instructions from Beijing about keeping a low profile while in town. Hopefully the Chinese fans will display good sportsmanship, but memories and emotions run understandably deep there.

Well, it seems the game got off without incident. Chinese authorities provided extraordinary security and it apparently did the trick. Gotta be expensive to hold a game that way though.
