So now the Secret Service is straight up lying.

Acting Secret Service Director Rowe finally said more than two weeks after the attempted assassination of President Trump, after being pummeled into being more forthcoming by various congressmen:
“At 6:00 PM, former President Trump took the stage to begin remarks. And based on what I know right now, neither the Secret Service counter-sniper teams nor members of the former President’s Security Detail had any knowledge that there was a man on the roof of the AGR building with a firearm. It is my understanding that personnel were not aware the assailant had a firearms until they heard gunshots,”
Rowe’s assertion that “personnel were not aware the assailant had a firearms until they heard gunshots” flatly contradicts video and a July 15th Washington Post report, two days after the shooting, which shows that people yelling at authorities that there is a man on a roof with a gun.
In “Police were warned of Trump rally shooter at least 86 seconds before gunfire, video shows,” the Washington Post asserted firmly:
“A Post analysis of the video backs up reports from other witnesses, who have said they tried to alert police in the moments before shots rang out.
Almost immediately after the assassination attempt on former president Donald Trump at his campaign rally in western Pennsylvania on Saturday, some in the crowd told reporters that they had tried to alert law enforcement that a suspicious man was on a nearby roof. Now, a newly surfaced video backs up those accounts of warnings, showing a chaotic scene in which bystanders started calling out to police nearly a minute and a half before the shots rang out.
The footage, posted to social media late Sunday, shows several witnesses yelling and directing at least one police officer toward the roof of a neighboring business. Authorities say that 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks shot at Trump and attendees from the roof before he was killed by law enforcement.
In the new video, one man shouts “Officer! Officer!” as others point toward the building. “He’s on the roof!” a woman says. The video also shows a police officer in a black uniform looking up toward the top of the building.”
Corroborating the assertion that police were aware of a threat minutes before shots rang out, with Trump left in the open on the stage by the Secret Service, is video of police with weapons drawn running and circling the building, looking up at the roof.
It remains to be seen if Congressional investigators will question Rowe on the stark contradictions between his testimony and first hand evidence, which would make the Secret Service either complicit in a plot to kill the president or so disastrously incompetent as to beggar belief.
