He seems like a nice enough guy and articulate but how is he qualified to be Secy/Defense? Is it about his Military service? Army Majors (N.G.) are a dime a dozen. A year in harms way doesn't give him the global perspective to make the critical decisions that effect the future of our gigantic National Defense system. I think he is way out of his depth with this job.

That's still better than our current SECDEF that was basically fired as a General after testifying before Congress that the program he was running was an absolute failure. Everyone I ever met in the Army hated Austin as he was a walking talking DEI project. The man hasn't the sense to pour piss out of a boot with the instructions on the heel. Remember when he went UA and was in the hospital and no one knew?

What hero worship? Hegseth has a Masters degree from Yale, and undergrad from Princeton, served honorably in the military, actually HAS a valor award, which NONE of the Joint Chiefs have earned, in other words, Hegseth is very well prepared to be SECDEF.

Who else would better know how the troops are operating and what they need?
