You know, as we neared Election Day, I was focused on how brainwashed people were to think that an emoty vessel airhead like Harris with radical policies damaging to America was a better choice than Trump. And when he won, I was relieved that the country was saved from the anti-American Party - and thrilled that an effective, accomplished president was returning for a 2nd term.

But this keeps getting better and better, every day. I didn’t really concentrate on the fact that we would have an entire new cabinet, composed of patriots instead of the traitors we’ve suffered for four years.

And I LOVE that he is going to dismantle the DOE, and is adding in a Department of Government Efficiency. As a Washingtonian, I have seen for decades all these government workers puttimg in a couple of hours of real work, and then laughing about it! They were at the swimming pool, the movies, even the golf course, the grocery store, sitting out reading the newspaper in front of Starbucks, you name it.

And I love Elise Stefanik at the U.N. and Huckabee as the ambassador to Israel.

OK, I’m rambling. The point is I was focused on Trump, not thinking about the stellar team he would assemble.

I’m thrilled.

I just read a CNN headline that Trump picked a Fox News contributor as Sec Def and my first reaction was “dafuq?”

Then I looked him up and lo and behold, he’s a veteran or Iraq and Afghanistan, 2 Bronze Stars and had been quite active in Veterans Affairs

FFS!! Is CNN at all capable of learning from it’s mistakes?!!

It is both an intriguing and odd choice actually. Pete is exceeding knowledgeable and intelligent and well educated, but I believe the highest rank he achieved in the military was Major? But given Trump's propensity to think outside the box and to focus on effectiveness and competency, it is likely an excellent choice.

This is an uncomfortable truth that needs addressed, a "woke" military is a weak military. Social engineering might (arguably) work in a civilian endeavor but it doesn't in the real world of fighting a war. Our military has degraded due to enacting "woke" reforms, such as women in direct combat roles, that will ultimately make these forces less ready for combat.


Hegseth has criticized the Obama administration’s 2015 decision to drop gender-based restrictions and allow women to serve in direct-combat jobs, a move that followed years of war in Iraq and Afghanistan that erased traditional notions of what it means to serve on the front lines. Since then, women have assimilated into positions that historically were all-male, including infantry and artillery units.

“Gimme a female pilot all day long. I have no issues with that,” Hegseth told Ryan in last week’s interview. His sticking point, Hegseth said, is a perception that the military has lowered standards for women in physically demanding jobs. Allowing women into combat roles, he said, “hasn’t made us more effective, hasn’t made us more lethal, has made fighting more complicated.”

Israel, Britain and other U.S. allies also allow women to serve in combat.

He seems like a nice enough guy and articulate but how is he qualified to be Secy/Defense? Is it about his Military service? Army Majors (N.G.) are a dime a dozen. A year in harms way doesn't give him the global perspective to make the critical decisions that effect the future of our gigantic National Defense system. I think he is way out of his depth with this job.
