However, the "wire" is about the same gage as speaker wire.
It's thickness is in part water proofing and insulation.
Oh yeah shit head wireless means it needs no cable to transmit a signal.
It has jack shit to do with the mic cable connect to the transceiver.

if the mic was low, I'd bend over and talk into it.

It wouldn't help .if a mic is low the volume has been turned down or the gain has been reduced.

I usually get paid good money for this kind of instruction
Btw the lapel mics dump and Hillary use had 22 to 24 gage mic line.
