A ranking of scientific documents shows Iran is the most active scientific country in the Middle East. Iran outpaced Turkey in 2011. Most countries in the region are too busy with their troubles to compete with the few lading countries: Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Israel and Egypt.
