Schumer Shutdown Ending

But you prefer to see people “starving”?
That's what Republicans wanted. They extorted Democrats by shutting off SNAP when they did not have to in order to force Democrats to agree to their f-d up budget.

How many people do you know that went starving because of no SNAP vs. people that couldn’t go to the salons because of no SNAP? Since when did the American taxpayer become on the hook for supplementing programs so people could go to the salon?

Except no one was going to “starve”.

Freeloaders would have to buy their own food for once.

Truly poor people can get help from churches and other charities.

This whole thing opened up people’s eyes to the amount of corruption and fraud with SNAP.

C'mon dude.

Trump is the largest ever, Bigly and YUGE, Con Man to ever exist. You want to deny this?

Give me an example of this ^^^^^^^^

BTW, I can give to 10+ trump examples of Con Man Activities.

So, what are those examples of this.......The Democrat strategy is always to cause the American people as much pain as possible in order to extort them for money that they stick in their pockets.

Your problem is your Himalayan ego which blinds you. You have TDS and you're singular focus is to serve your Democratic Party masters. You don't give a damn about poor and middle-class Americans. You're obviously a Godless human being.

Catherine Cortez Masto and Jacky Rosen of Nevada

Maggie Hassen and Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire

Angus King of Maine

John Fetterman (of course) of Pennsylvania

Tim Kaine of Virginia

Dick Durbin of Illinois

They caved to Republican extortion. What kind of people make others choose between letting people starve, or letting people lose their health care and possibly die in order to pass tax cuts for rich people? Republicans.

All senators from purple-ish states, except for Durbin. They did the calculus and decided their political careers would be irrevocably damaged if the shutdown continues.

Not sure what Durbin's story is.

What a shame. I prefer it when the government is shutdown. Government inability to pass policy is generally speaking better for our nation. All any of them do is what benefits them anyway. The beast has become to fat and bloated to operate as it should.

At least eight Senate Democrats have agreed to vote for the deal, which was brokered Sunday night between three former governors (Sens. Jeanne Shaheen, Angus King and Maggie Hassan), Senate Majority Leader John Thune and the White House.

As part of the deal, Senate GOP leaders have promised a vote on a bill regarding expiring enhanced ACA subsidies by the end of the second week in December, according to another source familiar with the matter. The expectation is that House and Senate GOP leaders will negotiate with Democrats on that bill in the coming weeks after the government is reopened.

The deal also guarantees all federal workers will be paid for time during shutdown.

About time the Dems caved

They are hardly caving if they got what they wanted, which is an extention of ACA subsidies.

We used to come out ahead whenever there is divided government so nothing got done.

But now, since the DC morons ran up $38T debt, we actually need them to do their jobs and cut spending to balance the budget.
SS and Medicare need to be fixed.
Healthcare needs to be fixed, I like Trump's $2,000 rebate to taxpayers to offset healthcare premiums.

15th post
The GOP only promised a vote. Not passage, not a compromise, just a vote. Meaningless since the GOP has a majority in both houses and the Dems need a supermajority in the senate to pass an extension.

Except now the voters, including all the white trash in the MAGA trailer parks getting ACA, are watching.

"You mean ACA is Obamacare, Cleetus?"

They did NOT get that, all they got is a vote on it in December. Its DEAD.

I like Trump's $2,000 rebate to offset everyone's healthcare premiums.

As if they actually would do so.

Except that won't cover most people dependent on ACA.

The problem is, people are watching now, and I don't think the Senators in the poor rural states are going to be that keen to cut off health care to the poor white trash.
