Also, you were fine with socialized medicine when you were in the Service, and I suspect you probably availed yourself of socialized medicine through the VA after you got out.

Nope.
I had my tonsils removed by the VA because they wouldn't do it when I was active-duty.
But that is the only time. I was unemployed after leaving service and had a condition that the military refused to address.
I got tired of waiting 6 months for an appointment with the VA.
I've always made sure I had a job where my boss offered a health insurance plan.
I even paid for Tricare........which has never paid one cent of my medical expenses.
I discovered that government health care is the worst health care in America.

True..... somewhat....they also don't use many things we do in food processing which leads to the obesity issue here which isn't as big a healthcare issue for them.
