Former Clinton pollster Mark Penn said Wednesday that Democrats are struggling politically because Americans perceive them as hyper-partisan and extreme on certain policies.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer told CNN in an April 27 interview that his party is “totally united in focusing on [President Donald] Trump.” After Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo played a clip of the interview on “Mornings with Maria,” Penn said that Schumer exemplifies how the party is viewed as “purely partisan” and unwilling to work with Trump to achieve progress for Americans.

“Chuck Schumer is one of the least popular politicians here in the country. I think he’s seen as really these days as close to a partisan hack rather than somebody who’s trying to solve the problems of the country,” Penn said. “And I think that’s the problem with the Democrats now. They’re seen as purely partisan, but off the deep end on some policy issues, not trying to be constructive, not listening to the will of the people to try to get things done together with the president.

March polling by NBC News and CNN/SSRS showed Democrats with record low popularity ratings — 27% and 29%, respectively.

Despite the public’s dissatisfaction, Schumer said on “Morning Joe” in March that his party’s “job” is to hurt Trump’s popularity, and that he and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries were aligned on an attack strategy.

Comment:
The Democrats believe that if they turn their hate up to 11 that that will work.
They are using their usual hate and fear tactics, but it's not working anymore.
They are defending mass illegal immigration crimes because they are on a mission to rebuild their shrinking voter base.
Remember what they said "no one is above the law"....except illegal immigrants
They have put their greed for power above the sovereignty of our country

BFD...No different than McTurtle saying that his first job was to make Barry the Boiking a one-term president.

Of course, a hapless controlled opposition jobber like him would be conversant in blowing smoke as such.

It's true. The DemoKKKrat party has no other purpose than to attack Trump and his supporters - politically, socially, legally, economically, and physically.

And the Republican turtle, Mitch McConnell, said that his job was to make Obama a one term Presisident. So what?

No, the democrats' job is to do what is in the best interests of the country, NOT what benefits your effing party. Party politics ought to be in 2nd place.

This is absolutely their plan. I would expect nothing less from an opposition party. The difference is when Conservatives and Republicans said this when Obama and Biden were in office, they got lectured about being racist or not being unified behind the President.

Schumer is a lunatic.

In his own words - his job is not to represent his constituents, but rather to make Trump look bad.

No wonder Democrats have a miserable approval rating.
