The proper response is to make them actually do a filibuster, not just threaten one.

Plus it gives them a platform so they can spew out their bullshit.

1. The Federal government needs to function.
2. There are other "simple majority" exceptions to the filibuster, like reconciliation.
3. So far the only sacred "filibuster cow" seems to be major legislation, not mundane/routine legislation.
