If I was a beauty queen, who cannot name a newspaper I read, nor even think of the name of one and lie my way out of such a simple question, I might indeed be able to governor of a state, with fewer residents than the city where I live. It could be doable, sadly, which speaks poorly of Alaskans.

But the second part is tougher, since I doubt a candidate plummeting in the polls and desperately hoping for a bump with a novel VP pick, will again dare to do so as McCain 2008 did: no vetting. In the future, I suspect wiser thinking will come into play.
